I will be getting the 'regular' flu shot this year, one that I turned down for the last three years in a row. But, after being ill from October until April with something last year.... I think I will give it a try this year. There are so many snotty little noses around me, lol. Working with 4 year olds can be detrimental to your health, sometimes.
Now the H1N1 shot, I don't know about that yet. I may take my chances on that one, unless I am strongly encouraged by my PCP of 24 years. It will have to be a strong argument in favor of taking it, for me to do so, as I do feel like the need to develop this vaccine has had a "rush" put on it, so, don't trust anything that has a 'rush' on it without further investigation.
However, with fibro, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis, I may not even be able to take it, who knows?
In my opinion, and the opinion of many others, is that this is a total scam. Research it some more to see how fishy this whole thing looks. The swine flu is really nothing.
What's funny is...Ive only had the flu 3x in my life. AND...each time it was passed onto me by people who had their flu shots!
I think it's a load of crap to be honest. If you can still get the virus and be sick, what's the point of getting the shot? I know it wont protect against ALL influenza viruses, but it should give some protection and I havent seen that with my family.
