what type of headaches are you having that they would give ya shots like that ?

I have had the shots in the neck fo r the headaches. It helps for a little while. The injection is not that painful.
Mine was similar to the trigger point injections. Is this the kind of treatment you are talking about?

i have never had them in my neck or head for my migraines but have had em in hip or arm..**hugs**

My sister has had a new procedure that freezes the nerves in the back of her head, its called Cryo-something... They actually inject something in the base of her head, and she is migraine free for at least 6 months at a time, when she starts to get them, she goes back to her nuerologist and gets another one. They work wonders for her.

YESSEVERAL OF THEM AND THEY WORKED FOR JUST A LITTLE WHILE BUT IT DID HELP...IT WAS NOT TO PAINFUL TO GET AND IT KICKED IN REALLY FAST MY DOC AT THE TIME USED HIGH DOSE LIDOCAINE AND IT WOULD LAST FOR ABOUT A WEEK THEN HAVE TO GO AGAIN. BUT AFTER A WHILE IT STOPPED BEING HELPFUL. FOR ME I HOPE THAT IF YOU DO THEM THEY WORK WELL FOR YOU AND DON'T STOP...HUGS...BECCA

I have not gone yet. I was at the my pain management doc yesterday and the nurse prac tried to get me to do it. She told me that they would numb it first and then the shot and I am assuming it is near a bone that she pressed on at the back of my head and that hurt just by her touching it. She did say that the shot would work wonders for my migraines. Of course I chickened out again. I had my doctor give me topamax again but I have had a headache everyday now for probably two months now. It is just a matter of me getting sick of them. If I get the shot I know that my life would be more productive if it worked.

Yup I just got them last week from the shoulders up to the scalp. It relieved the headaches for about 6 days. They can also use botox if you need something stronger. He gave me midrin for the headaches since it uses a sedative to release the muscles triggering the headaches. It worked but made me loopy as hell so I wouldn't go out if you try that lol. The shots didn't hurt me at all.

I've gotten my shots in my arm, but never in my neck ... there wasn't much pain for me

i needed this information as well, ; there is reoccuring severity, so I hope if I get a schedule for a hit, then perhaps in the long-term it will help my Pain-level all-up.

One of my doctors had talked about botox before too. That is when I wouldn't even think about doing shots. I think I am going to call doc's office tomorrow just because I am tired of the headaches. I hope it doesn't hurt too much, and I hope it's worth it.

IF HAVE ONLY HAD EPIDURALS DONE IN MY NECK. NOT SURE IF THATS EVEN CLOSE OR NOT..i HOPE EVERYTHING IS OK. GOOD LUCK TOO SWEETIE...

i wouldnt hesatate for a minute if they were offered to me and i dont get bad miagraines really bad very often.

OH TEAH, I USE MIDRIN TOO NYINA6 TOO, I DIDN'T GET LOOPY AT ALL AND THEY HAVE WORKED SO WELL FOR ME. OUT OF THE LAST 6 MONTHS, ONLY ONE TRIP TO THE ER FOR THE MIGRANE:):)

She made me tell the receptionist I was a chicken.
