had one and had to have emergency surgery..that is so painful, so sorry you are under the weather, are they gonna do surgery or what?? I couldnt even walk when i had that, totally hurts, and didnt know i had fibro then ,,, gentle hugs

I had one ovary removed years ago because of this. I'll just ride this one out as usual. With any luck I'll get a hysterectomy this summer and that should help.

you poor thing,,, i had hysterectomy before this happened but doctors would not take my ovaries and told me it could come back,, they will yank them next time if i suffer again though,, i will make double sure lol,,,, hugs to ya hon

I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)....and yes...I get these. And they are awful!

I had a huge one burst when I was 19. I was doubled over in pain for 3 days.

They are no fun. I hope you recover quickly though.

I have a regular doc appointment on Tuesday so if I'm not improved by then I'll say something. It has probably been about a year since the last one and at least this time it is not a raw type of pain. That is the absolute worst.

Ugh...I had one burst before I had FM and it was extremely painful for a few days. My doctor told me it was "like" raw acid internally and would not feel better until my body absorbed the fluid from the cyst.

I had some removed in 2002 and also had one burst the same yr, not a fun experience.

The scary thing is that they grew back!!

Now I am in menopause and they have calmed down for the time being.

My older sister has gotten these for the last 20 yrs. or so. She had a hysterectomy but they left the ovaries! She can feel them pop somehow and sometimes they cause infection. It's ridiculous the amount of life she's missed over this.

I am amazed at the number of women with hysterectomies who've kept their ovaries even thought the ovaries were NOT in perfect condition. Now, in my case with perfectly good ovaries it makes sense to keep them so that my own bodies make the hormones. But for those of you with conditions such as polycystic ovarian disease, etc. I'm always amazed at the reasoning behind leaving semi-functioning ovaries behind. Have they not heard of bio-identical hrt? Sorry, but my sister is dealing with this with her doctor. She has essentially been turning into a man over the last 10 - 15 years as a result of her PCOS. Because of her age, doctors have been reluctant to do any type of surgery for her because she may want to have more children. She's had a tubal ligation, been single for the past 10 years and already has two beautiful children. Anyhow, I feel deeply for you fibrosucks and every other lady here who deals with this painful condition.

Six weeks after I had my daughter years ago I was found to have an ovarian cyst that weighed 22 pounds. I had the cyst while carrying my daughter but since I had her naturally I didnt know I had it. Then I had to have a hysterctomy, they left one ovary which I begged them to take it out because ovarian cancer has little symptoms until its too late.

I have had 2 friends pass away in the last 2 years because of ovarian cancer. Also I took birth control pills for years, and when I had the hysterectomy done they said that some birth control pills can cause cysts. Now I am soon to be 53 and going through the menopause thing still worrying about that one ovary still left...Hugs

Had them all my life !!!! OH OUCH !!! Had to have an ovary removed. Then about 10 yrs. later had the other one and uterus removed. Polycistic ovary disease. Seems like quite a few of us are prone to it. Always had monster cycles and they were never "regular."
