I just wanted to share our recent experience, and hopefully provide info that might help someone. My little Pomeranian, Bentley, was recently diagnosed with IMHA, or Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. This is basically an autoimmune response to some trigger, and his immune system has begun attacking and destroying his red blood cells. We've started therapy, but the prognosis is guarded.

I share this just to say that IMHA attacks rapidly and has few symptoms....lethargy, maybe not eating well, or not acting themselves. So if you think something is "just not right" with your dog or cat, PLEASE take them in to the vet for a quick blood test. Quickly catching IMHA is important.

I know many of us fibromites have furbabies, and get so much love and enjoyment from them. My Mr. B sends his best wishes to each of them!

I feel so badly for Bentley and for you and the rest of the family, as you have been doing everything you can to help him through this. I know that I would feel the same way, so I thank you for your information.

Thank you all! If he survives, it will be a long, hard road....and survivors often have relapses and many take meds for the rest of their lives.

Just wanted to warn others of what to watch for....I wish I had known the signs ahead of time....

Bless your heart for trying to inform others about this. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and Mr Bentley! Hope he turns in the right direction. Bless your heart for no to giving up on him and getting him the treatment I would give t my cats!

Boston, my 100 lb furbaby and I send you all our best wishes and prayers for Bentley to get better. There are few things as sad as a sick four legged family member, we went through a terrible ear infection that turned into Horner's Syndrome with Boss earlier this year, thankfully now he is doing better. We will put your family and Bentley in our prayers.

Poor baby. I have a pomeranian too and they are such lovable dogs. My pom Angel and I are sending our love to Bentley. I hope he heals from this.
