Just wanted to share this with y'll! Last night I was on my laptop, when suddenly a box appeared saying my computer was at risk of attack from a virus....it even appeared that a scan was being run. But I knew it wasn't my software....over a three minute period, this Antivirus Pro had taken over my computer....wouldn't let me go online, or execute any other command. It asked if I wanted to run a scan and fix everything, then took me to a screen to "buy" the software and enter my credit card number. Oh, and it also took me to Viagra.com and Porno.com !!!!!

Future SIL was here...he helped me research....evidently this is a FRAUD and just takes credit card info from those trying to fix their computer....SO BEWARE!!!

We eventually cleared it off by restarting my laptop under safe mode, then restoring it to an earlier date (I learned a lot!!) And I downloaded a new protection software just to be sure!

Just thought I'd share so you guys can watch out for it.....it's called AntiVirus Pro.

Oh no! That's terrible. I had this happen a while back. If you do Ctrl Alt Delete (same time), then it will bring you to applications. From there, end the application. Do not hit no, X or yes, or, like you said, will bring you to their software site. It LOOKS authentic but it's not. It's illegal what they are doing and are NOT fixing your computer.

Hey Carrie! We tried the Ctrl Atl Delete...that wouldn't work on mine....even the online suggestions (and there were BUNCHES) didn't work....C thought of our fix, and thankfully it worked. Somebody needs to find these folks and stop them!

Look up Windows Enterprise Defender(WED) on the net and there are a bunch of links on how to remove whatever it has put on your computer files that is trying to make you think your computer is so infected you need to purchase the program.Apparently Windows Defender is a legitimate program of Windows but NOT Windows Enterprise Defender. Some how the WED attaches through non reputable sites.

I got an email last week from paypal, and it was a fraud one!!! I almost fell for it, and I am usually quite vigilent. I always report these. Hope they catch them and hang them by their gonads.
