Maybe we should start an OT post on good Dr's-their name and location.
I have an awesome Rheumy..I beg her to be my PCP on the side and tell her I will give her the PCP co-pays under the table, tax free, but she has yet to take me up on the offer.
Too many people getting sub-standard care. Would anyone else be interested in a Rheumy Directory?

The new doc sounds like he is on the ball. Rashes and fevers? There well maybe something else going on. That's good he is exploring more.
I think after a while doctors lose interest or run out of options to treat us.
I always mention fatigue to my PA, he's in rheumatology. And he's followed me for the past 4 or 5 years.
He's ok but he can't do much else for me. We've run all kinds of tests and lab work and things come back ok.
In regards to the fatigue he just says it's due to the pain, he does t think it's a fibromyalgia symptom. He says it's pain that causes the fatigue.
I'm not sure if that's the way it goes but I put up with the malaise and fatigue.
It seems everyone here has issue with fatigue so how can that NOT be a fibro symptom.
Sometimes I think I would like to find a new doc but there's little to choose from where I live. And I just think I could end up with someone worse than my guy. I've been doing this for 2 decades. I have moved a lot and have seen many rheumatologists because of the RA. And overally my PA is ok. He runs all tests possible and what I have asked for too. He's not really addressing the fibro very much though. I feel he is not understanding how it effects me. i tell him that i feel like crap and each day is a struggle but he's not able to offer much help other than pain med which I have in the form of Tramadol.
Anyway sorry to go on about my thing.
It's great you have someone who seems competent and is taking you seriously. Good luck,
