I’ve been lurking on and off for a couple of years now, and feel so grateful to you all for helping me see that I’m not alone, I’m not *crazy* and that there is hope! Briefly, I was diagnosed with fibro about 7 years ago., but I think I’ve had it at least since 2001. That’s when I was diagnosed with hashimoto’s thyroiditis (my numbers were so off the chart that the doc immediately got me in to see a top endo who usually has a multi-month waiting list. (OF course, the reason I had gotten so sick was due to my regular internist telling me, for months before, that I was “just depressed” (no matter that my hair was falling out, my hearing was deteriorating, in constant pain, et.); the only reason I got diagnosed was that his co-worker filled in for him when he was on vacation, and I went in desperate and scared because it was getting more difficult to even hear my children in the back seat of the car. Hmmm, this is getting long! Just to round it all out, I also have CFS.
Whew! Thanks again for all the inspiration. I will hopefully be “checking in” from time to time. I really don’t know how you do that every day, but I am really grateful you do! Have a great evening J

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Several here past and present have had tests for thyroid issues (mine were clean) and some have had to seek treatment for it, and it helped their symptoms. Others... Well, hey, here I am, right?
I check in every day because this is the group that got me through a realllllly bad time in my life, including relearning to walk at one point, so when the previous CHeck-In Goddess (MyNameisD) took time off, I took over daily check-in. Can't let our fellow fibro-mighty folks down, y'know? Too many others do that as it is.
BTW, if you haven't already read that we recommend Fibro for Dummies... We recommend fibro for dummies!
