I'm not sure if this is related to fibro or not, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced more new allergies.
A couple of years ago I got strep throat and cankor sores and was given penicillin. I have never had a problem before, but my throat and tongue swelled this time.
I recently had surgery on my hand, and ended up with such a horrible rash, I wasn't able to wear the splint to keep it supported. I had originally thought I was allergic to betadine, but found out they use chlorhexidine now instead. The surgeon said to make sure I tell all of my docs because they use this stuff in everything, like mouthwash and antibacterial soaps.
Now, I think I am becoming either allergic or sensitive to peanuts.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I just found out I was allergic to eggs and milk.
I would recommend seeing an allergist and get blood test for different allergies and the scratch tests for different allergies.
I just started xolair shots for allergies and asthma because I've been in the hospital for times this year for breathing problems and my allergies and asthma were never this bad before.

I found I can not eat my low fat cottage cheese or low fat ice cream....where live just got less worth living!
SO yes specialy with meds the drug I was taking for my Raynauds about two months ago started out of the blue to cause me to get a complete sunburn, cheaper then a tanning bed or Florida.
So we hqve to watch out and really listen to our bodies...

To Sandy: About 20 years ago, I had strep throat for almost a solid year and had the canker sores too, I no longer have that but I think our bodies have these weird things going on which are inexplainable. Two of my daughters have gone through the strep throat thing too and have had their tonsils removed because of it. I hope they don't get Fibro, but they are much like their mother in so many ways.
I'm also very allergic to surf laundry detergent - to the point that if I just stand near the box I start breaking out. If clothes that were washed in it touch something, then I have to clean that something too - it's very annoying. My boyfriend bought surf and I was so allergic to him he had to re-wash all of his clothes and the bedsheets and everything. Then when i moved back home with my parents I'm like... why am I itching so much - go down stairs and see that my mom has been using the surf brand laundry detergent and she washed my bed quilt for me! No wonder my face was breaking out hives. We had to wash EVERYTHING in the house hahaha. It worked though.
