My fibro flares in damp, cold weather.
It is my experience that some doctors do not like to look or think outside the "box". Everyone is unique and fibro has an effect on each one of us in a different way. You ask five different people and you get five different versions.
Yes, barometric pressure changes can effect FM!
Barometric pressure increases my achiness.
Get informed, Doc! (So frustrated by clueless docs!)
Not too much stomach trouble, thank goodness.
Meds, and/or the related GI stress of FM, an cause stomach upset. Strictly speaking, it's not supposedly "FM", but the docs who say tht don't have it.
Bear in mind, too, that being in pain and having a chronic illness is stressful, and stress messes us up atop the FM, so that can also be part of the issue.
Luck and healing,
Leo
About having a flare when it's cold...I have learned to keep my house warmer. I feel much better when the temperature is around 74. I tried to keep it lower than 70 for a long time to save money and to help the environment, but I realized how much more I was hurting. Also, I have small electric space heaters in the rooms I use the most...and I use them whenever I'm in those rooms. My muscles feel much more relaxed when I am warm!
