Does anyone have any extra motivation lying around? Cause I got nothin. I'm off today because I switched Monday for Thursday with bitchy coworker and I'm regretting my decision. But since I'm not going to go back on my word, so here we are. Luckily I only work til 2 tomorrow so I'm going to try to bank sleep today and tomorrow and hopefully I can survive Wednesday/Thursday/Friday...oh and my period is about to start, so yeah. Send help.
I reluctantly got out of bed at 630 because I had 2 hangry cats, and Noah and Koshka were just happy with getting cuddles until breakfast. Now the little predators are full and there's peace in the house again. Today I'm going to mostly take it easy and relax, but I need to make lunches for the week and spread some more mulch. I go buy 4 bags at a time and it forces me to pace myself. I'm about halfway done with the backyard, including all the new space I dug up, which is a lot. Most of my planting is done back there, just have a few things I'm waiting for, some of which are coming this week. As guilty as I feel for spending so much money on it, I do get a boost from seeing everything bloom. And now I need to eat something and get some meds and more coffee in me before I walk Miki and start the day. Just need to make myself get stuff done this morning and then I can relax.
As usual, I leave you with something cute, that also represents respecting those who are different from yourself. We as a society have a lot to learn from animals, IMO. Hugs and purrs to all

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

I have been up since 2 am. First was because of pain, by 5 am i felt i could lay down again but Madeline had other ideas than me sleeping. She is no way 1 year old yet i would say at the most she is 8 months! She is too small to be a year old and is very very kittenish yet! She is a total toddler into EVERYTHING she is going to take a lot of working with to become a well behaved cat! BUT she basically came from a cat hoarder, and then was in a shelter, shes a bit under weight, also the shelter gave her all her shots and rabies and spayed her because the previous owners couldn't even afford food for as many cats as they had! She is a beautiful black kitty, very sweet but very much earning the nick name trouble! I dont think shes ever had the run of a house, we had to show her how to play with toys even! Its looking more and more like were going to end up keeping her, and i told mom this morning i can tell she will be a great cat, with a lot of work put into her shes going to take a lot of time and patience which im willing to do if we are the ones keeping her, i do not want to put THAT much work into a cat that i will not be keeping. Mom said maybe she got in over her head but if she doesn't keep her is glad i finally would be ending up with a cat i been missing having one for 8 years now! I can tell shes going to be more work than abby ever was as a puppy! BUT shes well worth it! I am very very attached already and her and abby both sleep in the bed with me already curled up together.
Pain is very very very bad but it rained all night and still is raining. I start PT tomorrow for my knee finally, already starting to worry about Madeline being home alone tomorrow and what she will get into Mom suggested maybe lock her in the bathroom with her litter box when im gone tomorrow for PT, what do you guys think? Or is it better to leave her loose?
It's been a busy day here. I had to run over to my clients apartment and look after their two cats. One is 12 and not in great shape. She is very nervous around me so I give her space. The other one is food motivated so she could care less who looks after her. As long as food lands in her dish, it's all good.
I just climbed out of the pool. It's g0ing to rain off an on all week. There was a load of debris in the bottom of the pool. It's been to cold to get in there to clean it. I got that done. The cottonwoods have started now. It's just a big mess out there. I wanted to backwash the pool today but *someone* has the cap on the filter so tight that I can't get it off. Going to have to talk about that again...
Thanks for starting us off again today Miki. I appreciate it. Sounds like your yard is really coming along. I still have a ton of whirly gigs from the maple trees to clean up. The weather has been lousy and so have I.
AngelaJo - I am sure that Madeline is starting to feel better and knows that she has a home now. As Miki said, she could be small from being underweight. You can lock in the the bathroom with her litterbox, toys, food etc. while you are gone. Probably safer until she learns the house rules. I'm glad that she is already getting along with Abby. That's fantastic.
The movie "Wolf Hound" is now available on Amazon Prime to stream or buy.
Not much else to report. I ran a couple of errands while I was out and put some gas (ouch) in my car. Waves at everyone who follows!
I just found out my ex might be coming this weekend because his Dad isnt doing well and will probably die soon. I feel bad about his Dad , he was my FIL for 25 years after all. BUT, I dont like it when my ex comes to town , he will want to see me and it just makes me anxious in general when he is in Michigan.
My hamstrings are still awful and my lower back and hips have not been happy the last few days . I have been doing less to hopefully push along healing , so far that hasnt helped too much. Stretching and ice sessions are necessary every day. The ice does help for awhile , my muscles in those areas seem swollen .
My oldest brother that moved back to Michigan last November after almost 40 years of living in Ohio will be 61 tomorrow. He will be over tomorrow for dinner and my son will come too. We are going to get take out though , I am not up to being the cook. Hopefully it will be much nicer out tomorrow and we can eat outside.
I am probably going to plant the flowers I bought last week tonight. They go in pots , so I can stand and do it at the table on back porch. The rain has appeared to clear at least for now. I have 3 pots to fill , getting one done will be nice . I will see how it goes.
Have a good evening
