The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

I have no idea why they recommended osteo manipulation---I've had it done---it's okay if you're "out of whack" anyway but for FM? Eh. Who knows.
The brain is a dark mysterious place.
I did see the one Leo refers to and it was insulting. Last time I saw anything that bad was when Oprah had somebody on to talk about prescription medication addiction and made the blanket statement "Americans just can't handle pain!"
I do want to see Dr Oz and I will do my best to find time to watch over the weekend.
Noticed all of his endorsements lately, and the fact that he is the "Oprah" of doctors. Just a few years ago, he pretty much dismissed FM to an audience member. Now there is so much talk about it, and many who are willing to listen and "do" or "buy," he shows up as some kind of expert on Fm. Oh, and Spinal manipulation?? That's so ridiculous. It makes Fibro worse for most. I myself, have tried it several times, always forgetting that it makes me much worse. The chiropractors think they have the cure for everything with spinal manipulation. Ever notice that there is no end to their treatment plans? At least with physical therapy, they can actually make something completely better (FM not included). I think they are still far off on the cause, but fortunately for us, the Pharmaceutical companies want to come up with this answer so they can
make the millions that they will make on a drug that really helps. I guess that's capitalism. So far, they haven't come close with their current treatments. Lastly, beware of Dr. Oz. he your medical info from anywhere else. Just my personal opinion.
Oooh we know pain!! Grrr. I do hope that MD's will continue to reserch and believe....
There are so many doctors that act like know it alls. Until three or four big name athletes got RSD no one ever spoke of it. Now they are starting to mention it. Doctor OZ does not have clue about fibro so he listens to others and pretends.
Just a few days ago he was on the doctors show and they asked him about chronic pain and chronic fatigue and he acted like they were the same. Which they are not. I agree that chronic fatigue may come after having chronic pain or other auto immune diseases but it can also come before any of these other conditions. I find that family members and friends watch dr. Oz and try to tell you all about your condition and meanwhile they only get part of the information. It is like the advertisement for Lyrica it explains it may work for fibro but it doesn't say all cases are different. Some times I get so ticked at these know it all doctors because they cause me more grief than good. that's just one view thanks isabee
For most I myself don't watch him but happen to be scanning and caught the show and was just happy to see Fibro was out in the open and getting the air time. Then to see that research had found new and promising info.
I'm sure it will be a few more years before they have any solid grounds for a promising future or at least one with less pain.
