Good morning! (At last!) OMG. What a kerfuffle just trying to get connected to the so-called included-premium internet! Yikes. Took me 30 minutes.
Anyway, woke to and watched sunrise on the beach with a line of cargo ships stretched out on the horizon awaiting port entry to the north of here, but slept *terrible*. Too long in the car, y'know? I keep forgetting that any time google promises a three-hour trip, add an hour, LOL. It's the Google Factor, kinda like Planck's constant in physics. For every three time units given by google maps, add one more. Thus, three minutes equals four, fifteen equals twenty, and so forth.

We are on the top floor of this particular hotel. Freaky. We have a great view of the rebuilding from the last hurricane to rip through. The beach was, of course, significantly reduced, and it's kinda funny to see the waves breaking. The patterns are erratic as the dickens, bc of the weird ways the sand was washed out in bars/clumps. There are a couple spots about 50 yards offshore where you could stand and be ankle-deep, but if you're at the edge of the actual current beach, you're waist deep. They're working on it with all kinds of machinery, naturally, to make sure they have X yards of beach between the famed Virginia Beach boardwalk and the water's edge at any given time. You can see in very old photos, from the 1920s-30s, that the beach extended out about a quarter-mile from the boardwalk. Now? Not even close.

And that's about all I've got, sorry. Four hours of sleep, pain, blah blah blah, and I need to grab food. I will return later, but am sending everyone big warm hugs, and peaceful waters for your day!

89FNo energy, just going to do whatever. Sandra, It's hard to move at a certain time in life. You've been in your home forever, at least you'll be able to travel to the beach and enjoy. Oh, we did hear Boris Johnson's tenure ended due to a series of ethics scandals, accusations of dishonesty and a final collapse of government support that forced his recognation. What he didn't do like the...

My cat is going on trial for crimes against skink-anity. SIX in six weeks. Three this last week alone. The crack is maybe 1/4 inche wide. Maybe. Skink skitters past, her paw shoots out, her claw hooks in, she yanks, and somehow, having defied physics... WHAM. Skink-o-rama.Now, don't get me wrong, it's nice that she's a pesticidal maniac, but OMG. Skinks do no harm. They don't come inside. WTF.So,...

I am not doing the best this morning. I feel depressed and anxious. Lots of stuff happening that costs money, and thinking about moving, and my health troubles. Just a lot. I think it's time to see me psychologist. I need my brain sorted out.
I have wellness group this morning. Then ortho doc in the afternoon. I need to pack for a little trip to my daughter's. I'm leaving tomorrow, and coming home on Thursday.
Talk to ya later....
Sounds like you had a great view this morning! I watch the sun rise in front of me over lake superior this time of year. I can see a little slice of the lake from my desk here. :-) It is cool watching the sun come up and the ships come in.
ida,
Sorry to hear that you are anxious. I know how hard life can get when things get so busy. Try to have faith that things will get done and everything will come out fine in the end.
The little family gathering went ok. We had about half the people not show....including the two that really got the whole thing started. It was fun visiting with the ones that did make it though. I was thinking about something on my way to work that I know comes up in here off and on. How a pain level of 5 or 6 is considered mild for us. My pain level today is hovering at about a 6 or so.....10 years ago I'd have been afraid to walk down a steep hill on the way into work (that I have to walk down every day). This morning I just went for it without thinking. Sorry...I'll leave it at that. My left calf and right knee are sore this morning for no apparent reason other than a little FFF. :-)
Hoping everyone one finds something decent about today...
Kel
Leo, I hope you really get to enjoy your mini vacation. I've not been to that beach.
Ida, sorry you're feeling off today. I hope you can get an appt with the psychologist to work things out. Enjoy your visit with your daughter.
Kel, yeah, I get that our pain levels are not equivalent to normal. I've had a bad past week and still function and people don't get that. Life marches on. Hope your day goes quickly so you can rest that leg.
I didn't sleep last night and that's becoming my usual. Again. Ugh. Too many nights like this and I just seem angry all the time. Everything annoys me.
This is my last crazy busy week for a while. I love teaching but it can wear me out. And teaching means too many people.
A conference I'm speaking at was just moved up two weeks. Very close to the holidays. I hope attendance is high but I'm not in charge so not up to me. But I've done this with low attendance and that's a lot of work for so few.
Well, I'd better get moving. So much to do. Not in the mood to deal with anything today. I hope I feel better by tonight because I'm going to a book signing with Jodi Picoult, one of my favorite authors. At least I have that to look forward to.
Everyone, I hope your day has some sunshine in it.
Ida, good luck today at the doctors. I am sure he will order an MRI. Get packed and get rested for your trip tomorrow. Did hubby leave or is he still not feeling well?
Kel, I am glad you had a good weekend, even though half didn't show. I get it about pain levels. But I often wonder if my pain is really as bad or am I a wimp? I just don't know. I hope you have a decent day today.
I am not doing too bad. Normal aches and pains are here, but I guess they are tolerable. Tomorrow I have my 6 month dental appt, but really need to be at a meeting that I will be late to if I go. But, if I try to reschedule it will be months before I can get it. I guess I will just go to the appointment. If that is my biggest dilemma today, I am doing good. Have a good day all.
ida, I feel the same way with my depression and anxiety. I hope you get an appointment with your therapist soon, maybe after you get back from your daughters if they can't see you today. I'm out of money until I get paid next Monday so I will have to wait. I hope you start feeling better, and the appointment goes good today. You have a busy day ahead. Hugs
kel, I always tell my doctor I live at a 7 during the week and an 8 on the weekends. I just hurt so bad, and I don't feel like I get much relief during the week, and I sit at a desk all day. I guess that's why I tried the chemo, I was desperate. I'm glad you had a good reunion, too bad more of them didn't show up. Rest those legs, it sounds like between your left calf and right knee walking will not be fun. I hope they feel better soon.
bobbii, I'm so glad this is your last crazy week for a while. I couldn't handle doing what you do for sure. Luckily, I sit at a desk all day, and I really only have to deal with my supervisor, which is much better than the boss I use to always complain about, that women is evil. I hope your pain eases up so you can be more comfortable. I have to really pray on my pain and how it affects my mood b/c of my girls. I'm getting better at it as I make it a habit to pray with my girls daily. Some of their prayers are so sweet and really make me cry. But I know how you feel on not being able to deal with people, the pain takes over and we just can't deal with it. I hope your week turns out better than you think.
I'm glad to be at my desk, but the anxiety and depression are hitting hard since yesterday evening. They always get strong on Sundays b/c the weekend is so long and hard with kids. I need therapy, but don't have the money to go. I also found out this morning that Addison has torn up her new shoes already, there's another expense I wasn't expecting. I will have to go at lunch I guess. She has other's but this child is very particular about her shoes and clothes b/c of the way they feel.
Have a good day!
Ida - I understand how you are feeling. I am right there with you on the money thing. My medical bills keep pouring in with no end in sight. However, Iike Kel, I think that things will somehow work themselves out in the end and everything will be OK. Worrying changes nothing except my blood pressure - lol. Good luck with the ortho today. I hope that you can get in to see your doctor for a good chat. Thinking of you today and sending calming vibes.
Hi Kel - It is amazing to me too how we just suck it up and power through a 6 pain level day sometimes without blinking. I'm glad that the family gathering went OK. Kind of weird that the people that organized it did not show up. I'm hoping that we are able to do a little get away to Toronto with my Mom sometime soon. I'd like to see if I can coordinate a family gathering with some relatives that we didn't know about until I started her family tree. I hope that your day goes by quickly and that your knee/calf just leave you alone. Hang in there!
Hi Bobbii - We could have kept each other company last night. I could not sleep either and am now tripping over the bags under my eyes. I hate this. No sleep makes me not in the mood to do anything either. I hope that you enjoy your book signing later today!
BBMom - Sounds like your day is OK so far. I have to schedule a dental cleaning - thanks for the reminder! I have a deadline because of my knee surgery so it has to be done soon. Another blot on my calendar which is rapidly becoming too full of appointments for my liking. I hope that your day at the office goes by like a flash!
Yesterday was rumored to be the last warm (ish) day here so I spent some time outside working on my gardens. I gave my lilies a haircut and trimmed back the butterfly bushes. Now, I am all set (joy, rapture) to just focus on cleaning up leaves. Today, I have to make returns on some clothing that I ordered that doesn't fit and *maybe* find some suitable replacements. It depends on my patience and energy level. Shout out to AngelaJo and Blue! Hoping you two are doing alright on this Monday morning. Happy Monday!
Leo: I definitely know what you mean by too long in the car. I chuckled at the Google variable. Makes me think of a vacation we spent in France. A nearby supermarket was advertised as "five minutes away," which made us wonder how much the sign maker broke the speed limit. Sticking to the speed limit made it 10 to 15 minutes, certainly not 5. I hope you sleep better tonight!
Ida: Busy day on a full head. Money worries are... blegh. We've been having a lot the past few years. I know that anxiety when looking at all the numbers. I hope you'll be able to get an appointment with your psychologist soon. Good luck with the appointments and take care!
Kel: In bad pain times we can feel downright fortunate to "just" have mid-level pains. Would of course wish lower levels on you still. Things hurting for no apparent reason is always grouch-worthy if you ask me. Reactionary pain is one thing, but curve balls as well? Thanks, fibro. Hang in there!
Bobbii: Yep yep, people can be very draining It's an aspect that people don't understand about me. It's not just pain and fatigue, it's also draining to have a lot of people around me and demands on my mind. I hope your speaking engagement will be better attended this time. Indeed a bit of a waste of energy otherwise. Good luck with the tail end of your very busy time!
Bbmom: I suppose a lack of particularly bad pains is as good as can be hoped for sometimes. I hope you'll manage to squeeze in your dental appointment without being too late afterwards. Have a good day!
Fallingleaves: I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well right now. Waking up a lot is very taxing. We almost had to get rid of one of our cats because she wouldn't stop crying at night. As a last resort we bought a spray bottle that I would run out of the room with. It took much longer for the behaviour to correct than I should have had patience for, but she is an incredibly special cat to me. And despite what I put her through with that spray, she very evidently loves me great deals, so I got very lucky there.
Twinmom: I'm sorry you're struggling right now. Money worries are straining - all the more so if that strain is keeping you from help you need right now. I know what that's like. I wish weekends could be more relaxing for you. A person can't run on stress and pain ad infinitum. Take care as much as your situation allows, my friend.
I'm low on energy and high on anxiety. Did quite a bit of heavy shopping today, and I of course only have bicycle and/or public transport available, so the weight has to be carried around quite a lot. I'm trying to get an article finished to submit to my editor asap, but there is a part that doesn't work for me. It's important to me to have it in, so I will have to put more time into the project and see if I can get everything in line. Otherwise I'll have to waste the opportunity for now.
Upside: one of my cats, the one that's harder to read because she's rather stunted, is being super affectionate. I'm sitting at a desk and she is laying against my chest on the desk between my typing arms. Cozy. <3
Good day to all!
twin...Idk whats up with all the leg pain at night. My thighs hurt so bad when I lay down. And this depression is like a heavy blanket someone threw over me.I felt good last week ,upbeat .Now like awful. Not much has changed either.I blame it on my thyroid disease,at least the moods.
I hope everyone who is seeing a dr or going thru a medical procedure much and many caring thoughts, prayers, strength to get thru it all...
I like our room is high up. I usually hate heights, but here, it feels... soothing. Too high to hear thepeople, but not th eocean.
Wish you were all here. the weather is fibro-friendly 73F and low humidity, gentle breeze, stable barometer.
Bobbii, it use to make me crazy, I think it helps that I have so many things wrong with me now, I feel like I can relate to her problems, and it breaks my hurt. But don't get me wrong I feel like crying or screaming when she all of a sudden decides something she has worn many times before, hurts and she can't do it as were walking out the door. She wears the same things every day. You're right it's not worth the fight. Addison only likes short hair now so she can't feel it as much. Luckily, she looks adorable in a stacked bob.
Sonya, It still amazes me that you can ride a bike, and then lug things back home. OMG! :-) Thanks, I think that's why I feel like a crazy person, I'm always running on fumes. And I'm like you, I feel so drained and just having a bunch of noise around me does me in. I can't think and I go into immediate anxiety.
fallingleaves, Have you ever been checked for neuropathy or small fiber neuropathy? I was told mine is fibro pain, basically muscle pain, followed by burning small fiber neuropathy. It makes it impossible to go to sleep and to stay asleep.
Falling, I hope you can get some sleep. It is so hard to be productive when you are exhausted. Are you taking anything for your sinuses?
Twin, sorry your pain and anxiety are high. I hope you can get an appointment with the therapist. I know it does help. I just do not understand why insurance doesn’t pay more for those types of appointments. That stinks about Addison’s shoes. Did they rip out or did she help them along? My son goes though shoes quickly, but they are from wear. I hope your day goes well.
Fantod, you make me laugh, tripping over the bags under your eyes! There are days I feel like I look like I was punched during the night they are so black. You were very busy yesterday getting your yard work done. I am glad you didn’t get impaled by the rake or blown away.
Sonya, boo for the heavy shopping. That is exhausting just thinking about it. I hope you get some rest with your cat today. She sounds like my Jack Russell, who I swear thinks she is a cat. Take care.
Leo, thanks for painting the picture for me. It feels relaxing just to picture your seen. I am glad the weather is being nice to you. Not so much here. Chance of snow shower (no accumulation) today or tomorrow.
NO DAMN AMBITION! Squirrel! OMG, I cannot focus today. I should have stayed home, I probably would have accomplished a lot more. I did pay some bills, how depressing. Hubby just keeps on a spending. Sounds like we are all in the same boat! Okay, I do have 2 projects to get done, so no more internet for me until they are done. Hugs to all of you!
Blue - hope your mouth is healing and that you are able to get some nutrition.
