Morning everyone! It's Monday and that's about all I got. Yesterday it rained most of the day and then the temps plummeted. My arms/hands feet were throbbing by the time I went to bed, but I did get some time to cuddle the kitties yesterday. Noah even climbed into my lap while Nox was there. They've been doing really well, Noah is finally getting brave enough to move around while Nox is out. I need to go walk Miki and get ready for work, which I'm hoping won't be busy, but please enjoy this picture of bfs kitten at her birthday party on Saturday

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

My PTSD is sky high i get my yearly in 2 1/2 hours i leave in 2 hours........ I am going to go insane before them. My therapist had the therapy line and yesterady helped me make a coped ahead plan. Part of it is take a klonopin an hour before hand. Pain is up there too and its payday. Getting chinese with mom after. Going to go hide now.
Angela, breathe. It helps me pull my PTSD down to a bearable level. Breathe in through your nose for a count of four and out through your mouth for a count of eight. Hugs to you as I know just what you're feeling!
My weekend was pretty good despite the cold weather. I'm caught up on laundry until tomorrow. :-). DH has a bunch of errands for us to run today, so I need to get around. We're going to the vet about 45 minutes from the house to refill a prescription and to get the boy a shot. He'll enjoy the ride!
Hoping everyone has a good day!
I can barely move and everything that touches me feels like someone is pressing on a bruise, even if I let my elbows touch the arm rest of my chair. My entire body aches and my hands are so swollen and barely want to work. I'm not sure how I'm going to get through my day here at work. I took medicine and am just praying it will kick in soon. Meanwhile I've taken my laptop, left my desk in favor of a meeting room and am trying to hide so no one sees the pain. My boss is off this morning which I had forgot so I don't even have someone to ask to go home; honestly even if I did the pain is making me so dizzy I'm not sure I'm safe to drive. Looks like I'm waiting it out at least for a little bit.
Angela I'm sorry you are suffering so much. I really hope the time passes by quickly and that the appointment is over with as quick as possible.
PainedOne I hope your errands all go well and you get accomplished what you need. I love it when I see a dog in a car just enjoying the ride. Maybe there is something we (me) humans can learn from that simple act? Wishing you a good day with DH.
Sending hugs to Twin, Fantod, Blue, Wonder, Bear and the rest of the gang. Special hugs and chocolate to our fearless leader Leo.
Angela, just focus on the reward afterwards, chinese food. I hope it goes smoothly and your anxiety lowers after the medication.
Painedone, I hope your day turns out good and you pace yourself.
Maynard, I sure hope you get through your day. I don't see how you're handling work like that, it seems your days have been pure misery since you got the new position. I'm so sorry and I'm praying for you.
Leo, I sure hope you are getting help from hubby and that you got something figured out about surgery.
I read during the weekend but didn't feel up to replying to everyone. I'm feeling very overwhelmed with everything that's going on. I feel like my life has been in super stressed mode since February 24th, the day I got the flu. My body is so weak, I hurt so much more than I did before the flu, muscle cramps constantly, ribs sore, neck & back flared, my weight is down, and I try to eat more and my stomach kills me, it just makes me so depressed and I'm sick of feeling defeated.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Another restless night here. I did manage to get to sleep fairly easily but I've been sort of awake off and on since early this morning. I feel a tad ragged around the edges. Not much on the agenda today other than laundry, some cleaning and more genealogy. Because my cousin is coming to town, I want to print out 3 copies of their side of the family tree so he can take them home to distribute. I'm just trying to clean up any loose ends and make sure that I don't have mistakes or duplicate information in the profiles. And, I have to add some things too. Good thing that I enjoy this or I'd be stark raving mad in short order...
AngelaJo - I hope that you get through your appointment OK. No one I know enjoys that experience. I hope that the doctor is especially kind and patient. You always manage somehow and I'm sure that this appointment will be no exception. I'm glad to hear that you and your Mom are going to lunch afterwards. I hope that helps settle you down. Sending lots of support and hugs.
PainedOne - I hope that running errands is a nice change of scenery for you. I always have laundry of some sort. Today, I have to play catch up with the weekend stuff including a pair of very dirty insulated overalls left over from car repairs. I hope that you have a good day!
Maynard - Good move to take yourself away from noise and other people. That can help me get my pain levels to a better place. It is one reason that I detest a blaring TV. On the weekends, I tend to spend time in the front of the house away from the family room. My partner has the TV volume set on stun all weekend. Dorian Grey is losing his hearing and won't acknowledge it. Eventually, I will have to kill him lol. I hope that your meds are helping and/or that you have decided to take yourself home. Thanks for the shout out! You are the best!
Twin - I noticed your absence on the weekend. I figured that you were just frazzled and not feeling that great. You've had so much to contend with lately. Between discovering that you need a major colon surgery and then the explant it is no wonder you are over whelmed. Try to take it one day and if necessary one hour at a time. Smaller increments of what ifs and so on can be more tolerable. That's my motto lately and I'm sticking to it. I hope that you can wring some joy out of the day. Thinking of you and sending showers of sprinkles and sunshine your way.
OK - Off to bother the newest addition to the family. She probably thinks that I am some nosey nut job. I have her resume to work off of for the family tree but I am hoping that she'll give me a tiny bit of personal information. It is a lot easier to get background information online for people in the US versus Canada. I'm going to try again before I bother her but I was batting zero the other day. I'm pretty good at ferreting out information online. Laundry is working and I have plans to steam mop at least one (small) floor. Another exciting day in the neighborhood!
Shout out to our main man Bear, Leo, Wonder, Autumn, Blue, Ida, Milily and JP. I will check back later!
Miki I am glad that you got some cuddle time this weekend both kitties and BF. I hope today is slow for you but the day passes quickly.
Angela breathe and remind yourself that it will be over soon. Hugs and prayers.
Pained one I hope your running today doesn't put you down. Enjoy being out.
Maynard I feel for you. I can't imagine working when you are in that much pain. You are a true survivor.
Fantod wow it sounds like you researched a book. I wish I had the know how to do that but it wouldn't help me much. My mom went to her grave not telling me who my father is. I hope you enjoy your day. Hugs.
I am going to try gentle stretches and heat to see if I can calm this down. I need to be online sometime today finding a good pair of slides for spring and summer. I wear them because I don't have to bend to get them on.
Hi to Ida, Blue and the rest of the gang. A special prayer for Leo.
IDK what is wrong with me but I am still here at work. The pain is now shooting through my chest and I am sitting here doing everything I can to not cry but it's not working. I did call my doctor to see if there is anything he can do. One reason I'm still at work is that he has an office close by and I'm not sure if that's where he is today. And of course now the IBS has joined the party. Its just too much.
Autumn I'm so glad to hear you had a good time with your daughter out of the house. I'm not so glad to hear that is resulting in so much pain. I really hope your stretches and heat work so that you can get online later.
Miki, Miss Kitten has grown since you last posted a pic of her, hard to believe it's her birthday already. She is beautiful. I hope you aren't throbbing anymore... it sucks trying to push through the day like that.
Milily, I don't envy you having to go up and down those stairs like that. When I owned a town house on Oahu, I was stuck with that curse, and upon it's sale, vowed to never live in a house with stairs again.
I did a huge load of laundry at the laundry mat, dropped off some more of our potted plants and baby fruit trees to a friend's place (who is closer to the property up there), and got the rest of my home work as well as the quiz turned in before bed. I was exhausted but a stomach ache kept me up late... I may need a nap later.
This week: I should get the results of my vertigo test, and PTSD therapy and acupuncture on Wed. Later this month: CT scan of my entire digestive tract for signs of for tiny blood clots and inflammation.
Back in a sec.
Pained, yay that your got your laundry done! I did mine too... what a load off our backs, yeah? Literally!
Maynard, I can't believe you're stuck working in that kind of pain. I hope you can go home :(
Twins, it sucks when you're sick all the time and your mind says "let's do this" but your body says no. My weight is down too, I'm a skeleton. The GI doc said he'd get me a nutritionist, but I haven't heard anything since. I sent an email over the weekend and hope he'll reply today. Have you thought of seeing a nutritionist, too? I second Fantod, you've had sooo much put on your plate, it's amazing that you get up every day and keep going. You are a daughter of God for sure, and He is taking notice. I pray He touches your health and the hands of those surgeons.
Fantod, blaring noise is an instant migraine for me, I can see how that drives you nuts. Tell him that's what the captions are for! My mom lost over half of her hearing (70 % in one ear and 40% in the other) and she refused to wear her hearing aids. She always had everything blaring, shouted when she talked, etc. Good luck with those chores.
Autumn, I know how you feel about family secrets, they can turn your life upside down. My estranged father never told me anything before he died... but even worse my mother, who raised us, never said a peep either, that we're descendants of a king who was overthrown 300 yrs ago (my father's side). Or that my grandmother (dad's mother) was one of the last princesses. I hope you find out who your father is, btw. That would be huge.
Well, it took me like an hour to type this... LOL. Gotta get started on my homework. *Waves to everyone* hugs to the rest who follow.
Autumn, you poor thing, your pain sounds awful today. I am glad you got out of the house though. It sucks we have to pay for that though. I'm paying for every move I make these days since the flu. Hang in there, sending you gentle hugs and cupcakes.
Maynard, oh no, not IBS crap too. It never ends, I hope you find something that helps.
Blue, you have been one super busy girl lately. I know there is some excitement in it all, but I'm sorry your school work is suffering.
I have thought about seeing a nutritionist, but I am out of sick time at work and I'm so overwhelmed and going nonstop, the idea of one more appointment right now makes me want to cry. I wish I had more time to do that. I called my brother last night for guidance and he is bringing something over for me tonight. I'm not sure I can take it and I've never heard of it before. Deer Antler Velvet spray for women. No idea but it helps muscles recover and supports the immune system. I'm going to try more fruit smoothies too to see how my body handles it. I haven't made them since the girls were little. I need a new Ninja or something first.
Thinking of you all. Sorry I can't type more. This is bad news bears bad! Gotta run, I've angered the nerves too much doing this.
I am trying to have a low key day today/tonight. My anxiety kicked in and I did too much between 5 pm and 10 pm yesterday and I am still paying for it in the pain department. My son got home from Boston last night at 10;30 pm. It is nice to have him home and in one piece.
Tomorrow is suppose to be warmer , so I will try to do some yard pick up of scattered leaves and sticks. I use a reacher grabber thingy to pick up sticks, so I dont have to bend to the ground constantly and cause my lower spine to freak out in pain.
Miki - that picture of BFs Kitty is adorable. Made me smile. I had a cat when I was little that looked just like that.
Twins it does seem like you have been in extreme pain for far too long. I know there has to be an answer out there somewhere. I am glad your brother is trying to help. A nutritionist sounds like a good idea but I understand you feeling like you can't handle one more thing. I am lighting a candle for you too.
Oh Wonder I know what you are going through and it sucks royal. I hate when I pinch a nerve because I can't lift my arms or use my hands which leaves me feeling useless. I will say a prayer that your body will relax enough for the pinch to let up. Hugs and wishes for less pain.
Milily I use a devise to pick things up too. I can't bend over like that I hope you can enjoy the weather some.
I put my tens unit on this morning and it looks like I will be sleeping with it tonight. Hugs to all and remember you aren't alone
Wonder, I'm sorry your arm keeps zapping you! Maybe it would be best to let hubby take you to the doctor and get something done for it.
Milly I'm sorry to hear your paying for going and doing again. I hope today and this even go better than yesterday so that you can end this cycle.
I was able to get a doctor's appointment for first thing tomorrow morning so as long as I can make it through the next half hour and then likely an hour of getting our taxes done I can then get home and get into some more comfortable clothes. I really hope the doctor can do something, anything, to help.
