I wish I felt safe using it, because my dad died of liver disease unrelated to drinking, and my son was diagnosed with liver disease before he was 20 and has been told he will probably need a transplant - I might talk to him about it.
Low fat and Low carb/sugar diet. As liver metabolizes proteins, fats and carbs.
Milk thistle(in one of our supplements),
SAM-e
Artichokes(plus the are good in spinich artichoke dip)
Adiponectin(protects against fatty liver disease)B vitamins are key to proper metabolism your liver even stores extra B12 so good if you can check to make sure you are getting enough of these vitamins.
probiotics actually protect the gut mucosa, reduces allergy symptoms by down-regulating immune system and effect bile acids that go to how we absorb fat that liver then has to take care of.
Don't take my word for it read the research on the probiotics.

It is not clear how probiotics exert their health effects, but one of the most probable action mechanisms is the modulation of immune responses via the gut's mucosa.... It was found that probiotics have an anti-inflammatory potential

Probiotics affect metabolism- One of the many biochemical changes observed by the researchers was a change in how mice treated with probiotics metabolised bile acids. These acids are made by the liver and their primary function is to emulsify fats in the upper gut. If probiotics can influence the way in which bile acids are metabolized, this means they could change how much fat the body is able to absorb.
Note- Vitamins A, E, K and D need proper fat absorption for them to work otherwise you can suffer deficiencies. Again you nee proper D absorption for Calcium(bone health) and B Complex(Nerve health) to work.
