It's actually in the low 60s this morning, and shouldn't be hot. I can probably count on one hand the amount of days like thar we've had this year on one hand. It's a welcome change for sure.
I'm absolutely dreading work. Since we were closed Friday it's likely to be crazy. Especially with the way last week went.
I'll finish this up with a pretty photo from walking Miki. Where I live is so pretty this time of year, all the wildflowers are starting to bloom. This is how every yard that doesn't specifically landscape a lawn looks, it isn't my street but I wanted a spot where I didn't get any houses in the shot. I'm pretty sure this is why I feel so depressed by the end of winter, especially if it drags on like it did this year. When all these native plants are gone it looks so different.
And now I have to get ready for work, which I'm dreading after a long weekend. Hopefully people are out enjoying the weather and not calling us..

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

... observed a solar eclipse.

That greenery looks *cool*. Here, even our trees look sweaty.
And on that note, I'm off to deal with itchy fingertips. FYI, we had no mouse. it was a realistic toy mousey that the cats lost ages ago. So I was mouse-trap-sliced for nothing.
Sitch itch begone, and may everyone who follows have a fabulous day :-)
Miki, thanks for posting check-in. Wow, 60! I'm so jealous. We've been roasting in this relentless triple digit heat since early June. At night we're lucky to get down into the 80s... my electric bill is too high.
That's nice you got to take a nice walk, though, before your day gets too busy.
Fantod, he kept you up for caraway seeds?? That's a bit rude. No, we can not re-sleeve the pipe because it is warped and bowed in several places which is trapping solids which is causing the back up into the house.
Woke up with a headache in the left side of my face. Jack and I are still looking for a church...and last night while browsing the internet we saw one had a pot luck so we got dressed and went bringing chopped watermelon. Upon arrival we discovered their power was out, and the place was packed to the brim. Still had a good time, though.
I can't believe it's Monday again....or that August is already here tomorrow. We made a vet appointment for Cole, the black cat that survived the fire, for tomorrow. Today I have to make calls to banks like USAA and NFCU about a loan to buy the burned down house.
Hubby goes on base today to get his Common Access Card. And he has to complete 3 weeks of training before he starts working in person. They haven't even sent him a laptop yet for his remote work. The government is sooooo sloooowwww.
Have a great day, everyone. Hugs. Off to figure out what's for breakfast.
Big hugs <3
I learned a new phrase this weekend. I've been addicted to watching Grantchester and learned what "The Black Dog" means.
So, apparently, the black dog is back for me. aka, depression. It was gone for a minute the last 2 weeks and back in force this weekend. I have absolutely no motivation to do anything. I should be happy I am somewhat keeping to my rehab schedule now but really need to step it up now that last nerve burning was done. I'm not looking forward to getting out in the heat.
At my last apartment, I could literally point my remote at my car from my bedroom and turn it on to cool it off before I entered. The one saving grace here is I'm in a parking garage 100 percent cooler so it's a smidge cooler but the exhaustion of the heat getting there and waiting for the cool down nearly kills me. So, yeah, excitement, abated.
So, yeah, until I start getting my heart better for more energy, make more money and get my boss from stealing more money.....he blatantly took back my account again after 3 times the people at home office fixed it....this one guy is, what the what?!! I said, yep, nobody believes that he is literally stealing from me left and right. He is killing me slowly and I know that is the reason for 1/2 my health problems. Until I have money in savings I cannot make any big moves. It's so depressing y'all. So freaking depressing. I guess we could call him the black dog.
Hope you have a better week ahead than the fun I'm currently having. Sorry, debbie downer out.
Blue - I'm sorry that resleeving the line won't work.. And, I agree that it should be covered.
Miki - That's a great picture! Thanks for starting us off. I hope that work wasn't too terrible.
JP - Winston Churchill battled the black dog. For therapy he built brick walls in his garden and painted. Your boss is a POS. I can understand being very depressed. Hugs!
Happy a Monday to you LilMissy!
I hope that everyone else is OK. Waves!
Wow, I didn't know that about Winston Churchill thanks!
Funny enough, I started painting during the Pandemic. I sure wish I had all my paints now. Maybe I'll buy a cheap little kit. Hmmm
