The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
Yet as the kids get older into jr high & high school, many teachers do not like to make accommodations outlined on the 504 plans. (heard of many struggling with that). So instead parents seek out the IEP.
Jen...great job on getting that IEP in place and making it concrete!
We also ALWAYS look behind child seats to see if anything is taped behind them with pertinent information.
I have not thought of it but it looks like a good idea.
I'm not sure about the jewelry as I don't wear it all the time but the phone idea is good.
Leo, that tip you gave about not using gold or silver for the dog tag makes sense. Good to know.
I carry the wallet card for the ER, the tags for the EMTs, if that makes sense.
Gotta say, though, last year when I was taken to the ER, the EMTs did look for dogs tags and baracelet both and took info off my dog tag.
Good helpful topic. We should remember to at least think about the fact we have multiple meds---even if we don't list them all (for lack of space) or what they're for---it will clue the ER docs in and they will look up records or check that wallet card. I keep mine up to date and it's neon-colored and laminated so it's easy to see.
I also carry a Medic Alert card in my wallet for back up, right next to my driver's license. I do like the idea of dog tags though. They're much less likely to get broken or lost.
