OK I am going to see a new dr tomorrow who is gonna finally start helping me. I have some mucle relaxers and I was wondering if I can take a nighttime pain reliver with my muscle relaxer? I am on 10 mg of balfulon. I think that is how it is spelled.

Balfulon isn't coming up in google. I always (always always) check new meds on the interactions checker at drugs.com:

It's handy because you can check your entire list of medications, even OTC stuff.

Then I cross check on another site to verify, usually webmd.com, just look for the "interactions" button.

That probably sounds kind of over-cautious, but on two or three occasions drugs prescribed to me could have potentially caused some very serious interactions. Most doctors don't have the entire encyclopedia of interactions in their heads, even the best doc can (and does) goof. I usually ignore any minor interactions, just take note so I'm aware. My mother in law is currently waiting on a kidney transplant due to an OD from a prescription, when she took it as it said on the label. She also has liver damage from the incident.

Yeah I am really nervous to take any type of med. I also have a panic disorder and I don't use any meds for that either. I do therapy and I am looking into other ways to treat my illnesses. I do understand some meds are needed and this is one that is needed and I am just having a hard time making myself take it.

That reminds me of my relationship with elavil. I'm 35 and have been on it since I was 12, with a couple short and painful breaks. It makes me groggy, thirsty, sweat a lot, sleep like a rock. But when I don't take it, I'm in miserable pain for lack of sleep... and then it gets worse. Now that rheumatoid arthritis has introduced itself, I find I have to compromise with much worse side effects than from elavil. Bleh!

Hi there,I think you may be taking about the med Baclofen,it is a muscle relaxer.As others have suggested you should be able to research possible interactions.

Also your pharmacist is usually the one who will let you know if any of your meds shouldn't be taken together. They're supposed to be in the know about all that. Plus a warning will come up on their computer, if there's potentially a problem.

I'd check it out, but I know of many people who take muscle relaxers and pain pills together.

I have taken muscle relaxers and pain meds at bedtime for a long time. I would ask your pharmacist. They really know more about the particulars of a drug....much more than the doctors. Just give your pharmacy a call. They will know what you are taking and can tell you what will work.
