There's no better place.
I too am blessed with a hubby who is willing to clean, but his timing is often very inconvenient. I help if I can, but generally just get out of the way, and try to remember to tell him afterwards how nice it looks and how much I appreciate him.
Notice I did say "try"! There are times when I am distinctly unappreciative!
Good thing he's also a forgiving sort, even if he does get his feelings hurt. I usually find it necessary to apologize at some point for being such an ungrateful bitch.
Dysfunctional , maybe, but has worked for 20+ years. He's still here, and still does floors, usually what dusting gets done, and cooks at least half our meals. Bathrooms and cat litterpans are my department, and he is for more gracious - never bitches if they aren't minty fresh every day.
Each couple has to work out their own details. For me, it sure beats being single. God alone knows what kind of mess I'd live in without him.
It's no wonder your IBS played you up like that really and he should've realised that shouldn't he?? Besides, we can't live by everybody else's rules, only our own. My Hubby understands that, I don't stop him cleaning, if I can help then I will, if I can't, then I won't - simple as that. I live by this;
I do what I can, when I can, how I can - everything else is done by Hubby.
Feel better asap, hugs,Owlxxx
