I am new to this group and wanted advice. I was on hydromorphone for four years. Most reason was from accident on the job that the dr placed six screws in my arm. Anyhow my rhematology Dr prescribed it. My body has become dependst on it and the continued cycle of needing more made me decide to get off of it. This added with the opioid issue in the USA. There are truly people that need pain meds and I just get irate on those that have abused it. I’m tapered down to 6mg this month. Let me tell you it is not easy. My withdraw symptoms are rough some days. Anyhow sorry for the ramble but my Dr prescribed me Lyrica. I been on it one month and gained 11 pounds. AAHHHH. I can’t do this. Has anyone tried any other drug and or over the counter meds / vitamins to help with the fibromyalgia ?? I also suffer with rheumatoid arthritis.

My cat is going on trial for crimes against skink-anity. SIX in six weeks. Three this last week alone. The crack is maybe 1/4 inche wide. Maybe. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

There is a *big* difference between someone with a legitimate need for opioids to have a better quality of life as opposed to an addict who is abusing them. Many people require opioids to be able to function on a daily basis. There is nothing wrong with that.
Lyrica is pretty notorious for causing immediate weight gain. You could try Gabapentin which is in the same class of drugs to see if it affects you the same way. Other options are Cymbalta or
Savella. Muscle relaxers are another option. Acupuncture works pretty well for some people.
Do you have the book “Fibromyalgia for Dummies?” It’s available on Amazon. Great source of information and ways to try and manage this complex illness. Take care.
