Related to inflammation and diet... My doctor wants me to reduce the meloxicam (anti inflammatory) I take to a point of stopping it all together. I was very reluctant because I was in constant slow motion, stiff, mild pain, foggy last time I went off of it. This week I stopped taking it and decided to take it as needed instead of every morning. Well, one day I took half a pill at noon. Otherwise, I am not taking it. Now, I am a bit slow/congested bones/wet blanket. But, fog is not noticeable and no pain. Why? Coincidence? Daily exercise? Ocean dips? 6 months of naltrexone? or A week without meat or chicken? Supposedly, beef is highly inflammatory. I will test the beef idea in a few days and see and the ocean will soon not be an option.
I guess I'm trying redeem myself here, lol. Emily, I am just wondering if you can't substitute other natural anti inflammatory foods or the dreaded word, "supplements", such as Omega 3's, Ginger, Pineapple Juice (bromelain), etc... I've even tried Nopalea juice (made from pure ocean algae) and Zyflamend (I did check the list of ingredients and counteractions w/my meds though) with good success. Ginger tea is the best for me for immediate stomach relief. I have to use alternative anti inflammatory meds because of all my injuries and spondyliosis and now small vessel heart disease. If I kept pounding my body with advil all day (like I so badly want to) or something stronger like the Indomethacin (or even prednisone) I had to take for my heart, my liver would be shot! Just speaking from personal experience after having 2+ years of serious inflammation.
p.s. I don't take back my comment about the statement from Dr. Oz's site though, snarky snark. Thanks for not tearing me to pieces on that one peeps :-0
