You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
Best of luck as you move forward with disability. Your new fur baby will be happy to have you around more often :)
That being said, since I have been homebound for almost six months now due to this illness, I have found myself looking for hobbies, and if you are good with crafts, that sounds like an excellent idea!
Depression .... hmmmmmmmmm dunno if they will go for the work & not being able to do it as a depression .... yeah I know you are depressed about the thought of it, but I think it will take a professional diagnosis of depression for it to be considered in your claim :-/
The feeling of being overwhelmed is one I can definitely relate to.....I think it is because there are so many days that I don't get too much done, and things pile up....then it feels like there are mountains of things staring me in the face that need doing! Just remember to tackle one thing at a time, and to take care of your body and listen to it.
And yes, my shoulders give me the most fits of all.....lots of pain just as you describe....try a hand help massager (I use Homedics), a TENS unit, or this new one....I put three tennis balls in an old sock....put a Pilates mat or towel on the floor.....put the sock on the mat, and lie down on top of the mat, so the tennis balls are under the spot that hurts on my shoulder.....Then just lie still, and let the weight of your body press against the balls....hurts, but in a good way!
Take care, and keep having fun with Festus and those crafts!
HUGS from down south :)
