I am allergic to all pads and tampons and even many kinds of underwear, I have to buy more than one brand and change them often, sometimes I give up and use a wash clothe and just throw it away. (and one time I tried vinegar and water! Not a good think to find out you are allergic to!!!) Oh yes and spermicides on condoms.

don't know if it has anything to do with fibro - never thought of it! Too strong of Chlorine really strong definitely give me a headache.

Look up, Menstral Cups.... Diva Cup... They have a lot of different names. They are made of medical grade silicone, so you don't usually have any allergies to them. There are some that are made of other materials. I have a lot of allergies to pads, and I cannot use tampons! Too many problems. I try to use the diva cup thing, and when I first start, I hurt too much to keep it in for long periods. look it up and see what you think! My friend makes all of her pads, but I haven't gotten that far yet. lol

I have many chemical sensitivities. So frustrating. At times I find that I have a real allergy to something but don't know what ingredient I'm allergic to so I just stop using the product.

So far, I've never had a food allergy, well I don't think so anyway, nothing like swelling or hives. I know some foods irritate my digestive tract, always have. I have IBS.

When it comes to clothing, especially underwear and socks, I can't use anything that the dye hasn't set in so I don't buy the dark colors.

It upsets me to have to pay more for something because they didn't bleach it white. If it's "Natural" or "Organic" we pay more. I just shake my head and wear a lot of clothes from the thrift shop and buy new socks, underwear, bras and shoes. Then I can pay a little more for the natural stuff.

EASY. Cause "THEY" dont have periods.

They bleach all that stuff so it can be white. Garbage is right. Why do they need to be white???? What's wrong with natural cotton color???? You're just going to get it all messy anyways.

You can get unbleached tampons but you probably have to go to a health food store or order them online.

We don't need white rice, white coffee filters or white flour, either.

Also, I just found that the scented toilet papers can cause chemical sensitivities so now I use the unscented and I haven't had the problems that I had prior to that.

FMS =fibromyalgia syndrome,

I use ONLY, natural fabrics& Unscented everything & you can get natural cotton pads & tampons, too that are like cloth diapers are washable, & environmentally friendly, tooooooo! Kinda icky but, that is what my Mom & other elderly female family members did before it got all pre-made for us!~~~~~ Mom said ,a cotton layer, cotton batten layers, cotton gauze, cotton layer & garter belt to hold it in place, etc., ............. no other way to do it way back then~~~ Aw....." the good old days"~~~~~ lol! NOT!

I had this problem. I am allergic to what I call "the blue weirdness" that they put in pads and now in tampons. The "blue weirdness" causes blistering and itching and just overall bad! I call it that because why on earth is there blue coloring in pads and tampons and what is it? LOL? I had an extremely hard time finding pads and tampons without the blue weirdness, or the weird plastic-y lining, that also caused irritation. So I switched to a menstrual cup.

i seriously recommend a menstrual cup like diva cup. It's great - i don't even feel like I'm on my period when I use it, other than when I have to take it out. I only have to do that every 12 hours and the toxic shock risk is super low. taking it out is gross - I'm not going to lie but you get used to it plus pads and tampons are gross too (I tell myself, "its just blood" it could be worse). There are other menstrual cups you could try like moon cup or luna cup or the keeper - look them up because they have different sizes and what not. I no longer have irritations with divacup and also I've noticed it's made my period significantly shorter! tampons are super drying and burning, and I don't have that issue with diva cup.

my only problem is I also have vaginismus so I sometimes have a hard time getting the cup in there... but once I do, it's great. I've never been so comfortable on a period ever in my life. What's great about these cups is you can buy them for about 25$ and then I know with diva cup, you only replace it once a year. Amazon.com has it the cheapest (so I've found)

I am not allergic to kotex panty liners, they do not have the blue weirdness or the plastic. They're supposedly cotton but they probably have bleach since they are bright white and I worry about the safety of those products. I wish I could find a more natural product that's cheap or maybe I'll just make some cloth panty liners. I use panty liners as a back up just in case the cup leaks (which I have not had happen.) I am sick of giving my money to these big companies because I don't think they truly have women in mind when it comes to designing these products.

I have cloth pads and used them for years, and off and on when I get these burns. I used cloth dipes for all my kids so I was in the mode. I still keep a small cloth pad in my purse for emergencies.

I know of the cup,and might look into it. I dunno. I'm also thinking of my daughter who shares some of my problems. She is 17.

I think the fibro messed my periods up because I havent had one in almost 4 months and thats not normal for me,I would get it on time every month for 2-3 days. I'm 40 and last time I had it I was on it from march 25 to may 23 2 months. I went to my gyn n she said I should have it by july and its passed n gone.I read Fibro can mess your periods. If I dont have it by Sept going to see the gyn again.

Check out the website Gladrags.com. They have cotton pads and the Diva cup. They are kinda pricy but a friend of mine uses them and loves them. I have thought about it but I don't do so hot with blood.

I don't touch tampons. As for pads, well, it's natural or nothing! I have no sensitivities, but why risk finding out in *that* body area?! Yikes!

If these things were designed by women, they'd never slide out of place, you'd never get an accidental bikini wax due to adhesive on "wings", and there'd be no nonsense about chemicals and colorants.

There are so many toxins in air, water, clothing dye, etc. etc.... I try to live very "green" but sometimes these things are unavoidable.
