Finally got this little guy home, he is so, so sweet. Just purrs as soon as he sees me. He cried a bit on the drive home but settled down once I stuck my finger through the carrier door. Eventually fell asleep with his head against my finger. I don't think he's been away from his siblings so it makes sense that he's freaked out. Although it didn't stop him from eating as soon as I offered him food, or playing and exploring. The adults have all noticed him (he has a *lot* to say) and hissed under the door but that's normal. Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. I'm surprised by how he's taken everything in stride. I shouldn't be probably, I know kittens are resilient, but Miki was so freaked out that it took several days for her to eat, and she lives to eat. I guess I expected something closer to that but I'm not about to complain that he's doing well. And the other kitties are not phased by his presence.
I already totally love the little guy. Haven't taken home a socialized cat in a long time but I'm sure I'll still get to watch his full personality come out over the next few weeks
