Researchers are trying to get a better handle on how to measure key features of fatigue, so studies of this serious symptom can lead to further understanding. Additional research looks at a link between bladder pain, especially if left untreated, and other illnesses. There is a possibility that this problem may progress into a systemic pain condition. Spilling over from the Journal, we just had to mention interesting research that talks about how rapid eye movement (REM), or dream sleep, is involved in your ability to remember emotional events.

With the discovery of Micro RNA about 6 years ago, so many diseases have benefited from this information, fibromyalgia included.
There were 50 years between the discovery of DNA and the discovery of RNA. A scientist was studying a particular worm when he stumbled upon a "string like" substance. He thought it was peculiar just to the worm. Then it was discovered in humans as well. That's when all this gene mapping began. It has literally been an explosion since then. I always buy science magazines to read what the latest health science discoveries are.
Most recently, of course, the discovery of the two new retroviruses: mlv and xmrv, there has been even more excitement with respect to Fibromyalgia.
Prior to this discovery, there were only two retroviruses known to man: AIDS and Hepatitis C. Now mlv and xmrv have not only been found to exist in a vast number of chronic fatigue (and thereby fibro) sufferers, they are now seen to exist in children with Autism! Perhaps Autism is what occurs in children exposed to these retroviruses, and fibromyalgia and CFS is what occurs in adults.
I recently spoke with a mother of five autistic children, who herself suffers from Fibromyalgia. Did her children "catch Autism" from her exposure to xmrv? It remains to be seen.
