The doc said she had damaged the joint and it would take about three months to heal properly.
Not sure if any of this helps you - but this is our experience with it.
Do not crunch your shoulders up.
Do stretches side to side, tilt head side to side, use biofreeze and rub it around your neck.
I get the same pains and have had two cat scans with dye, showed nothing.
I started doing the above to help myself. I also rotate my shoulder to help.since pajn can migrate from the back.
I have also been to endodontist, oral surgeons, you name it. Found nothing. I never use to have this problem with fibro but I have has the last few years.
I just started wearing my mouth guard again about a week or so ago - I do grind my teeth at night - the teeth on left side are especially worn down - I am pretty sure I clench at night too. Now that I am aware of it I will catch myself clenching during the day.
I`m on very strong meds for fibro/ddd/arthritis etc ,but none help with this.
Have you discussed this with your dr?Often ,inspite of it being *kind of) dental related drs...especialy those with a good understanding of fibro and its` wide degree of areas affected by painful burning/stabbing/aches and pains.Maybe he/she(?) can offer you something ,even if it`s advice on how to alleviate the pain when it becomes overwhelming.
sending you much love ,and extra gentle hugs..xoxoox
