I'm wondering if anyone has had IV Iron Therapy???......It turns out that my new DR read my Hemotologist's Lab results from December, and says that I am extremely low in Iron.....He did new blood work today, and I'm supposed to get my results tomorrow.....But he is starting me on IV Iron Therapy in his office on Thursday.
He was very surprised that my Hemotologist didn't do anything about the obvious very low Iron results.....I'm a little pissed now myself....He did the extra blood work in Dec. 'cause I'm so exhausted and told me the results were fine!!!.... The new Internist says that I will start to feel much better getting the much needed iron.
I've been with my Hemo Dr. for 17 years, and aside for having to wait the usual two hours sitting in his waiting room, I always felt he was a good doctor.......But now I am thinking...."Why did I have to suffer this extreme exhaustion all these months for nothing, when he had the answer right there in his lab reports???"....DAMN!

OMG! I just left my doctors office today, he sent over the paper work for me to get IV iron. It MUST be done at a hospital because he says the risk of it being injected to quickly can cause anaffalatic shock ( forgive the spelling.) My iron levels are really low and because I already have constipation issues and I don't take pain meds that the pill form isn't a good idea. But Iron plays a big role in fatigue and because of a different surgery I can't absorb any nutrients through food anymore so I must take vitamins. He told me that people have tried something called Gentle Iron that doesn't have any side effects. I balled my eyes out when I first found out, I have the biggest fear of needles. I pass out when I get my blood drawn, shots are always a big ordeal, they had to drug me up good before surgery. I was pretty much gone by the time the anesthesiologist came in. You are totally right, he should have mentioned something right when he saw the low levels. I would be glad to exchange thoughts or tips, I am just glad to not be the only one going through this!!!

I might have to go through this, they are trying the tablets first as well as diet but they missed it with me to. I have been exhausted for about 6 months and not once did they check my iron, well it turns out its really low!

If you use cast iron skillets, you wont have this problem.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
