Yes. People with fibro tend to swell throughout the day, so something you may put on in the morning that fits, may feel too tight and uncomfortable by mid-day.

My skin has become hyper-sensitive b/c of FM and I must wear
loose, soft clothing. When possible, I wear extra-soft slippers, too.
Not very fashionable but with all these kinds of pain, comfort must
reign supreme!

What your are describing is called "Allydonia." It is one of the many "perks" that can be associated with Fibromyalgia. I have it myself. It comes and goes but I have adjusted my wardrobe to accomodate this issue. I have become very picky about fabric weight and feel. You are not alone. Take care.

So glad to read this post. I thought it was just in my head. My skin has become so sensitive that almost everything bothers me except cotton.

This is one that bugs my husband.....your not going to change,your going in that lol.I just need to be comfortable and also at the right temperature so comfy clothes and layers that can be adjusted to my damn internal thermometer are needed .
I only wear a bra when i absolutely have no choice!Maybe thats too much info but yes its normal in fibro :)

I stopped wearing a bra and underwear years ago (probably TMI! LOL) but just can't stand the constriction. I wear a tank top with a built in stretch bra and clean clothes every day. Most of my clothes are semi-spandex/cotton and stretchy. I also cut all my tags off as I can't stand anything lacy, itchy, scratchy, banding or pokey! LOL I am most comfortable in my night shirt and house coat. Oh yeah, really fun is that I'm allergic to blue dye and red dyes, formaldehyde (in many clothes), and most man made fabrics.

I'm new, but I wish I had known about all these thing a long time ago. I felt that dressing the way I like to, was a little slovenly, and that I really ought to have more pride.

This makes me feel so much better! For the past couple of years, I cannot stand to wear clothes that are the least be tight....Hate bras and underwear! I like to stay home so I don't have to wear clothes!

What types of clothing do you have problems with?
What kind of fabrics would you like to see more clothes made of?
Would custom fit clothing be a better option for you?

I also have problems with certain clothing items and fabrics. I've had fibromyalgia for nearly14 years now and I've learned a lot of tricks with my clothing.

My clothing line is expected to be on the market within a year or so.

Hanes sells under pants that are in soft fabric have the elastic covered by the same cloth. I have to try to find soft T-shirt fabric for most of my clothes and also buy them 1-2 sizes larger. I go down the aisle and feel the fabric. If it passes that test then on to finding the size. Working on finding a bra that will be acceptable to my body's quirks. So far I just wear undershirts. Oh, does anyone out there have problems with shoes and socks? I don't know what I will do if we have a cold and snowy winter as I only wear flip flops. Which has caused foot problems also. Just can't win can we?

I know I swell, but I also read somewhere that we "feel" as though we've swelled more than we actually have. I have decided that I hate most clothing. My jewelry also weighs too much, so I don't wear it often. I felt pretty good this morning, but I couldn't wait to get out of my clothes today! I wear larger sizes and love polyester/spandex blends. Sometimes cotton bothers me. I wish I could wake up and have some magic screen tell me the appropriate size and fabric I should wear for the day.

Being as comfortable as possible takes priority for me, certain materials just too irritating for my skin to wear.
