Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

I'm not sure if that has been refuted yet, but I seem to recall reading about pain frequently favouring the left side.
Not that fibro will then spare the rest of our bodies, of course. *rolls eyes*
Most of my pain is centered around my hips, and my left hip is often more painful. Both of them are a real problem, though, along with other things.
Welcome again, and hope to see you around on the board.
We use the book "Fibro for DUMMIES" a lot, for ideas, info, and helping inform loved ones...
My pain migrates, as it does for some, but since an injury in 2011, that's where it likes to "live" the most. (It's my right side, however, and my pain's never had a "side".... Hmm.)
Trial and error is what works, sadly. Meds like Cymbalta only work for about a third of Fibro patients; another third have had luck with low-dose naltrexone or pain blocks at paritcularly bad spots and similar; and another third of us seem to need to change around our pain management plans more often. (I base this on my six years on this board, not on medical research, btw. Tho' the medical research does support that one-third on Cymbalta class meds!)
GLad to meet you,a nd welcome to the board!

My left side of my body has always been worse pain wise. I am left handed, not sure if that makes a difference.
In regards to your leg, see your Dr and have it checked out. Not everything is caused by fibro and new symptoms or worsening of a particular area should be checked out by a Dr because it could be something else .
I also experience terrible and constant pain down my left leg, that is a different pain from the other pains I have in my feet, arms and shoulders. It feels Like lightening bolts going through my leg, and is an inflamed nerve that won't shut off after being pinched in a bulging disk. I take gabapentin with pretty good results. It has dulled this pain significantly, but not gotten rid of it completely.
Welcome to the group!
