That is interesting. Chinese medicine is more holistic then your average western doctor. They deal with functions rather then organs. Also they treat regarding; to hot, to cold, to dry to wet,stagnant etc.
I had a Chinese doctor correctly diagnose me in China town, 6 months before getting blood tests that showed low hormones, he just took my pulse!
Yes, I think they are on to something. I think it would be worthwhile to get the blood tests, and see if you have hypercoagalation and a build up of fibrin, sounds like the acupuncturist gets it...

I probably do need these blood tests. Thanks so much for sharing your results. It opens my eyes to new theories and possible treatments.

Hi Jon, I was wondering if you would share the results from your bloodwork. I'm concerned because a clotting disorder runs in my family and I have never been tested. Did they find that you did have hypercoagation and also what about the fibrin results?

If your doctor won't do it, you can order them for yourself online. It would be interesting to find out, if this is common. Still trying to figure out the difference between Thrombotic marker panels and C3a and C4a tests, still working on it...

I kind of wonder, why this information is being suppressed in the medical community? Maybe the pharmaceutical companies don't want you getting better, and stop taking their drugs? Just a thought....

I have to agree with you Jon. I think this is the case with a number of different treatments for a number of different illnesses. The internet has opened up the lines of communication and we are able now to access information that was never available to us before. When we get tired of the run around between the doctors and the big pharma, we can take it upon ourselves to become more informed and HOPEFULLY obtain enough credible info and then find it ourselves, or if we are still dependent on a medical practionier, with luck, find one who is open minded and willing to help us. Yes, you are right. The patient should take charge of the process,if anything else, to make sure the doctor is doing the right thing! They probably hate that, but if they do not take the time to brush up on the latest, (in this case, 8 year old study) then we should point that out!
I am taking the enzymes too, the Heparin just excelerates the process. The Narccolease enzyme is available online, it is not cheap, but has been proven to help with eating up the fibrin. You have to take it on an empty stomach, otherwise you lose the enzymes, as they will digest the food instead of the fibrin.

I read that about the heparin and the excelleration of the process. It's a great thing to follow. I know that I would not be too enthused about those shots in the abdomen, but I give you credit for going there! And I want to know how it works. Just about anything at this point is worth it to get to the bottom of this, and I'm pretty sure that's where we need to go. I bet an endocrinologist might be of help too. I've read a lot about Adrenal Fatigue and I'm pretty sure it's something that I probably have.

I was at the health foods store today and talking with a very interested and helpful employee, who geared me toward Nattokinase, enzyme for circulation. He pointed out that it provides 1440 Fibrinolytic units of activity, which he said is how they measure how the enzyme acts upon Fibrin. So, thanks to your info, and my acupuncturist's observations, I'm following up on this too.

A good test you can do yourself to see if you have adrenal insufficiency, which is qiute common with our condition; stand I'd front of a mirror in that bathroom with the lights out, then shine a flashlight into your eye, if there is a slow response with the irises opening, it s a good chance that you are low in adrenals. That is one of the first things my doctor works on, getting the adrenal glands working again. He put me on low doses of Corisol for about 6 months, and supplements with bovine adrenals, which I had to take for about 2 years, now my adrenals test at normal. The impotent thing is to not take the coritsol for very long, or the body will stop making the hormone. It really takes a multifaceted approach to a disease like FM!

The tests were positive for fibrin and for the mechanism that is generating the fibrin. I am injecting Heparin, to break up the fibrin and also taking enzymes, to eat all the little sticky webs, that make me have pain...
