Congrats Tam!!! I am so relieved to hear you don't have MS. That is a horrible disease. Good news is an accomplishment no matter how big or small. And this one was definately a big one. I am so glad hon. It will take off some stress for you. Plus you know your body wont be dealing with FM and MS at the same time! Congrats hon. Thanks for sharing!!

I just went thru the same thing a week ago! I know the feeling! Yay, it's a positive thing. But still feel a bit nervous as I want to know FOR SURE that I don't have it,but I DO NOT want a spinal tap. so for now, MRI's will have to do.

We have to get together and share symptoms sometime. Maybe we can figure out if their fibro or MS symptoms. LOL!

The symptoms are so very similar aren't they? I know I can answer yes to most MS and lupus symptoms, I think fibro symptoms are so similar to other illnesses. I plan on having tests to rule out other illnesses too.

Wow our little site is getting messed up here. words are overlapping each other and everything. Yeah I think this stuff is way to similar.....But I am glad to have lupus and MS out of the way and also Lyme disease So I have been tested for these and I think some others and still just fibro YIPPEE it is good to only deal with one at a time. Even though the pain is increasing alot over the weeks which just means that I am in a flare but life is still good. Thanks for all the positive feedback love you all

Congrats! My very first visit with my Rhuemy to confirm my fibro, I too was so scared it could be MS. My regular doctor had mentioned MS and by the time I got to the Rhuemy vist, my Rhuemy said I did not have MS! I was so relieved and happy that I didn't have it, I left the clinic almost euphoric. I had a friend with MS and saw what it did to her..no way I wanted that!

Awesome on getting cleared for MS. I was worried when that was getting ruled out. Fibro is hard enough, Hugs, Keleee :)

Glad to hear the good news. I had a few months to deal with the FM diagnosis, then FINALLY an explanation for my elevated CRP and ESR levels (shows inflammation somewhere in your system) -- Psoriatic Arthrits. I was really getting worried thinking it might be my heart (thanks to my internist).

My rheumy got all excited too because he said "now THAT I can treat!!!!" He gets frustrated that he can't do more for his FM patients.

Anyway, my point is, it's good to finally find out what it is they are looking for through tests, etc., especially the big diseases like MS, etc.

With all of my muscle pain and weakness, I thought mine was MD, so I kept asking him over and over again as he ruled out RA, MS, Lupus, etc.

He said, "I stand firm on my FM diagnosis but I won't stop trying to rule out everything else possible." It was a long process but he finally finished, I guess...lol. The PSA, FM and Iron Deficient Anemia was enough for me, thank you very much.
