Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
If you have the tenderpoints and widespread pain thats a standout for fibro.
I think we all have different ways our pain started but everyone needs to get to a specialist and let them run all their test ruling everything out before dxing fibro,.
Hope you get the help you need
My pain started in my lower back, then neck, shoulders and upper back. Then I started noticing my arms hurting me along with elbow pain.
From there it traveled to include legs, feet, and ankles. So I would say it started in one or two places, then slowly spread, to where now I pretty much hurt all over.
Throw into the mix depression, twitching, fatigue, sleeping problems. I agree to go to a rheumy for diagnosis and possibly treatment. But I ended up going back to my GP for treatment, because he knows me best and is great to work with.
Best of luck to you, and keep us posted.
Hugs, Elizabeth
Welcome and I hope that you get a good diagnosis soon. Just knowing helps!
My fibro started after I had a case of Mono in my early 30s. My legs hurt like crazy and never stopped after I recovered from mono. Then other musles, tendons, etc. became affected, but it was a long time before I actually received my diagnosis.
Hang in there. We are here!

You may want to ask if they checked for that in your blood work along with Lyme disease, just to rule them out.
My pain started out with intense joint pain for about a 14 months and then it morphed into muscle pain. The virus really shot my ANA levels up so they first thought it was Lupus, then RA and now fibro.
I did have mono as a teen so that could have been a contributing factor for not handling this new virus. Not to mention that when I got the virus I had just gotten married and moved into hubby's house with his 4 full time kids! My immune system wasn't exactly up to par that time.
I've heard many say that it was a trauma/accident or surgery that started the cascade of events leading to fibro.
It's a long process to pin down what meds or treatments work for you, but hang in there. We're all supportive here and we know what you're going through! :)
