Pleased to meet everyone.
I haven't search online for some time for a support group/community, so imagine my surprise at finding one tonight. =)
I was diagnosed at 15 (almost ten years ago) and I've been learning to live with Fibro ever since. The next few years after my DX was very difficult; I was expelled from Highschool repeatidly until dropping out, then wasn't permitted to get my GED/License/Work until I was 18 and the school ceased having an insane measure of control in my life.
Fortunately, in the middle of all the chaos, I met a wonderful man who became a supportive boyfriend, who is now my incredible Husband. We just celebrated our third wedding anniversary.
He is active-duty USCoast Guard, and we transfered up to Michigan this summer from Louisville, KY. It's been an extremely stressful time for me. Now he's gone 75% of the time, and in addition to Fibro I've been suffering from Anxiety and I don't do well when home alone at night (call me paranoid). So, the flare-up have been numerous.
After bad experiences on Vioxx and Amitripillean (I SO don't remember how to spell that) back in Highschool, I've opted not to use medications for years. Now the stress level, insomnia, and mild depression paired with anxiety may very well have me experiementing with new prescriptions, provided I can find a suitable Doctor/Specialist (which I've had no luck with in the past).
My hope is to go back to College at least part time next year, and work part time this winter. I'm concerned about being able to commit to 20-40/hours a week again, considering how frequently my flare-ups have been occuring.
On the plus side I have two adorable Labrador furbabies (our only babies at current), a black and a chocolate puppy. I love art and writing, and hope to take some candle-making classes this winter and try my hand at being craftsy.
I look forward to getting to know everyone. I apologize for the lengthy introduction! LOL

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
When I was a teenager, my Doctor(s) refused to give me any sort of sleep aid, claiming I was far too young to be on a habit-forming, long-term prescription for such things.
However, I've been considering trying -any- form of aid now that I'm a bit older, and medicines such as Lunesta and Ambien at least claim to be non-habit-forming (I apologize if those are spelled incorrectly).
It's nice to meet another CG spouse! Thank you for your reply, I will likely be sending you questions sooner or later! =)
Very interesting! I'm located up on Lake Huron, and being new to the region I'm not sure how far that is from the Uni of MI. I'll have to look into that!
