Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
I have so many health problems, one of my doctors teaches and he thought I would make a good case study. He asked me to send him copies of all my blood work for this year.
Sending Hugs & Prayers
alot of "US" do have Mitro value prolapse=MPV rapid/irregular heart beat but i do have deforemed mitro valve from birth -never repaired i was only 26 when they discovered it before i was DX w/ Fibro 3yrs later! also Crohens from birth also -common is IBS, colitis or digestive problems!
Fibro has alot of syntoms that mimic several illness's
I do meditation & yoga everyday beforei get out of bed or i won't be able to move!
Deep breathing where ever you are! JUST block out noise around you! close eyes, silently start counting 1,000-1,1,000-2 ect & take a long slow breath thru nose,Then blow it out slow thru mouth counting same # you breathed in! It may take 4-8 breaths to see a difference! It really does slow down your heart rate to pump correctly!
plez make sure you tell your Doc or go to ER if breathing doesn't help! LETS "US" KNOW OR WE WILL WORRY! prayers & angels to watch & guide you!

Am Glad you are getting em Checked..he told me to Watch for IF they last Several Minutes at a Time, I Feel Nauseated, Pressure, Short of Breath..or start Sweating while doing Nothing. Well I am about Your Age, and could very well be going into menopause...this is also a Symptom of that.
Most Likely Nothing, But could be something...Happy you are getting em Checked !
It most often happens in the evening, most frequently when I lay down for bed. I can feel when it's getting in that "mode"...odd sensation really....maybe like butterflies, but in your chest. That is the feeling that precedes the heart palpitation.
I didn't really know what it was doing at first....I'd feel the fluttering sensation, then a pressure in my chest for a second, then it would stop. This would keep happening every 30 seconds or so and could last for a few minutes or up to a half hour. I actually had my fingers on my neck when it happened once. Found out my heart was actually skipping a beat (it would quiver in replacement of the beat it missed), then kicking itself in high gear to catch up. That "high gear" mode was the reason for the pressure in my chest. No pain or any other symptom is present when it happens.
I went to a Cardiologist and used a 24 hour heart monitor. Since this problem is difficult to predict and I could go weeks without it happening once...the monitor showed nothing (naturally the next day after I returned the monitor to the docs office...it happened again...lol). The doc said that since there wasn't any pain and my EKG was normal...not to worry about it. This was about 10 years ago.
Oddly enough, I have an appointment with a Cardiologist this Thursday for an echocardiogram (possible Rheumatic Fever). I plan on mentioning this issue also....just to be sure it's nothing to worry about.
What I did find out from the cardiologist is that it's more of an electrical problem. Where the transmission misses and depending on which ventricle of the heart it happens in is really whether or not you 'feel' it.
The doc continued to share that everybody has them. If it happens in the lower ventricles, you feel that 'big beat' or 'flutter' because there is more blood filling up in there.
But if it happens in the upper ventricles, you don't feel it as they don't fill up with as much blood.
I've had some doozies, where it stops for a moment and restarts. That rush of blood flow (and the lack there of) really makes me dizzy. Then the anxiety instantly kicks in a the same moment as my body pours out the flight or fight hormones. I then become dizzy, sick to my stomach and scared.
The doc continued to share that there is nothing no one can do about them. They are called premature heart beats (you can google this). And from my own research basically what will happen is that if it gets really bad where it's happening all of the time, they will install a pacemaker to keep things more evened out. Otherwise, you just live with it.
I used to get really really freaked out when this was happening. I've learned through listening to my body that my big ones happen about 1-2 weeks before my period. And if I happen to eat too much sugars. I can't control the hormones with my period...but I can control the sugar I intake.
And I'm working on the whole anxiety thing.
See what your doc says this week. Always have a full work up when it comes to your heart. That way you can rest knowing you've done everything you can in your own power.
Hugs!
Get to a Dr. and get it checked out. ASAP

I have been sick since. I am diagnosed with Fibro. But, Lupus is also on the table but not official.
Please do not wait. Go to the Cardiologist as soon as possible.
Fibromoyalgia is enough for anyone to handle.
Good Luck! Best Wishes
Ive had PVCs since I was a child. My dr said was probably the 1st sign that I had fibro. I have been sick since I was 18months old. Not fibro but my immune system basically didnt work. I was dx in 2007 but doc says Ive had it since my late 20s from my symptoms. You are wise to have it checked. never dismiss heart symptoms. I also have heart disease and have had one heart attack, but didnt have any relationship to the "flutters"
hugs

You want to make sure it's (hopefully) just a benign symptom of Fibro or a benign side effect of a medication rather than something very serious. Only a doctor/hospital can test and give you an answer.
