there are over 1000 pages in this bill. here are some summed up for you. and if you have medicare (like me) we will be SCREWED! but this "REFORM" effects EVERYONE.....
Page 16: States that if you have insurance at the time of the bill becoming law and change, you will be required to take a similar plan. If that is not available, you will be required to take the gov option!
Page 22: Mandates audits of all employers that self-insure!
Page 29: Admission: your health care will be rationed!
Page 30: A government committee will decide what treatments and benefits you get (and, unlike an insurer, there will be no appeals process)
Page 42: The "Health Choices Commissioner" will decide health benefits for you. You will have no choice. None.
Page 50: All non-US citizens, illegal or not, will be provided with free healthcare services.

IF our medicine and medical is so bad, why on earth would Canadians cross into the US for superior medical treatments when they have been denied in their own country.
As for "rebellious mob", the TEA parties are A-political, no one cares who you voted for, what party you belong to but they do ask that you vote. Politics have never been an issue with the TEA Parties. American Rights have been at the heart of the gatherings.

The American people are in for a very rude awakening IF this bill passes. People like us with illnesses they have no way to actually diagnose will be placed on the back burner to survive the best way we know how.
It's better to arm yourself with reliable, intelligent information than it is to listen to glorified, promising speeches.
Ultimately, you are responsible for you. IF you choose to sit back and allow these things to pass, you're part of the problem.
That makes me think that someone who doesn't understand what they're reading is either taking things out of context, or simply mis-representing things altogether.
People, do your own research - don't get your information from your email or some blogger - read the bill! I'm not a big fan of this stuff and hope it doesn't pass, but scare tactics are not going to help anyone.
There is a clear agenda at foot to scuttle Obama's political capital and make sure he's a one-term President, and based on the shitty mess he inherited, I think it's a bit early to make that call based on one issue about which there is a lot more misinformation that information out there.
I requested this be moved on the 8th when it first came out. I have not heard back from DS. I am going to close this one but encourage you to open a new discussion on the "Off Topics" section.
