there are over 1000 pages in this bill. here are some summed up for you. and if you have medicare (like me) we will be SCREWED! but this "REFORM" effects EVERYONE.....
Page 16: States that if you have insurance at the time of the bill becoming law and change, you will be required to take a similar plan. If that is not available, you will be required to take the gov option!

Have you read Steinbeck's, The Grapes of Wrath? It's a fairly accurate historical picture of one family's experience when Oklahoma sharecroppers were turned out of their homes by the thousands. It was almost like this sector of Americans were just thrown away.
In California, they've already started to deny health benefits to the poorest. If you can't afford to be sick, you may as well do Arnold a favor and just die on the side of the road, like poor old Grandpa and Grandma Joad.
And don't even get me started about how Vietnam vets get treated - if they've managed to survive this long.
The government has never done anything well so what makes anyone think they can do health care well.
What would take medical costs down is to stop people from sueing hospital, doctors and insurance companies for millions. Dr.'s pay around a million dollars in insurance each year for malpractice insurance. Hospitals pay even more outrageous fees so they can pay all the crazy lawsuits.
Lawsuits should be just for out of pocket costs to the person and a small fee perhaps. We need a cap on lawsuits to bring the cost of mecial services down.

DRUGMAKERS READY TO SPEND $150M PUSHING OBAMA'S HEALTH-CARE PLAN

The nations drugmakers stand ready to spend $150 million to help President Barack Obama overhaul health care this fall, according to numerous officials, a staggering sum that could dwarf attempts to derail his chief domestic priority.
The campaign, now in its early stages, includes television advertising under PhRMAs own name and commercials aired in conjunction with the liberal group, Families USA.
Numerous people with knowledge of PhRMAs plans said they had been told it would likely reach $150 million and perhaps $200 million. They spoke on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to divulge details.
Additionally, the industry is the major contributor to Healthy Economy Now, which recently completed a $12 million round of advertising nationally and in several states. The ads were made by companies with close ties to Democrats and the White House, and generally reflected the administrations changing rhetoric on health care.
In an interview, Ken Johnson, senior vice president of PhRMA, said, We will have a significant presence over the August recess, both on television and newspapers and on radio, but we have not finalized details for our fall campaign.
Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA, said the partnership with the deep-pocketed drug industry is one of mutual self-interest, even though the two groups disagree on numerous issues. We want to achieve coverage for everyone. For PhRMA, this would improve volume for prescription sales because everyone would have better access to medicine, he said.
Any health care bill that makes it to Obamas desk is expected to extend health insurance to the nearly 50 million who now lack it. That would mean a huge new pool of potential customers for drug companies and other health care providers. That, in turn, has created an incentive to offer concessions to the White House and lawmakers in hopes of shaping the bill, rather than simply opposing it.

A significantly more a m b i t i o u s ad ve r t i s - ing effort by PhRMA is expected to begin around Labor Day.
Jim Messina, a deputy White House chief of staff who is deeply involved in the administrations h e a l t h c a re e f fo r t , brought Democratic senators up to date recently on the help PhRMA, labor unions and other outside groups are providing.
This socialized health care bill sucks and it will be "we the people" who suffer the most. I do not like this "change".
Persons in my age group will be passed over for major medical care and allowed to pass on without medical attention. How sad that our greatest resource will be allowed to expire without medical attention merely because we're too old for the government to worry about.
No wonder alternative medicines are up in the USA, people are taking matters into their own hands and doing what they can to get well and stay well. I'm one of those people and I know they're are others here who are doing the same.
I attend TEA Parties when they're in my area. Please do something positive before we lose what we do have to socialism.
It sounds so ridiculous, we have drug industry, insurance industry, politics and lawyers determining how health care should be. Very little 'health care' is deemed for those who have studied medicine.
Maybe I should consult with a voodoo practitioner. I don't think they have any restrictions yet?

I also know that the medications you can find at your local farm co-op is the very same thing you purchase for personal use minus the fancy packaging and advertisements. It's manufactured the same as what you get from the pharmacy but with a disclaimer that it isn't FDA tested or approved. That's just another way of controlling the general population, getting them to buy into their BS and feed the pharmaceutical companies. Hey, pets get sick too and their meds are the same as yours.
I've been without medical insurance, lived in the backwoods. I learned real quick to treat me and my family with medications I could easily get my hands on at the co-op. I was also lucky enough to have a RN for a friend who gave me a LOT of information we're not supposed to know. I took care of my family for over five years like that and we did just fine.
PS. The farm pharmaceuticals are also stamped "Not for human consumption". But, as in all medicines, they're all manufactured on the same equipment as human medications. Has anyone ever heard of a critter pharmaceutical company??
We're fed entirely too much BS and far too many people believe it. I'm a Rebel to the bone and I question almost everything, especially IF it comes from the government and big pharmas.
Bar coding - chuckle. But really, isn't that what our SSN numbers are. The illegal immigrants are the ones who go unnoticed but they get free health care. But on the flip side, they should be vaccinated and have a check up before entering this country. Give us your poor and tired but keep the contageous home.
