Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
But we don't know what causes fibro. It could be a number of things.
I got sick because my chemo lowered my immune system. If my immune system had't taken such a beating it might have been able to suppress the lyme and co-infections.
If I get well after this treatment for lyme and co-infections does that mean that I didn't have fibro? Or did the fibro just let this other illness run wild?
Sending Hugs and Prayers that we all find the cause of our illness and get well.

She did prolly have a myofascial issue for a bit...she was a soft ball player..
Yea.
My mother declared that she was cured - healed by God. She wasn't really but put on a good show and everyone went along. Some still say she didn't have FM because God cured her.
She was just fed up at being the pariah because of her illness.
I believe she pushed herself into an early grave at 73. She wouldn't attend to the FM at all - that would have acknowledged it, making it real. She had one stroke and just as she was starting to walk again, she had the final stroke.
I've seen this behavior in other FM'ers before - I've done it myself. We can trick ourselves for a bit but sooner or later, the truth will out.
It would be so helpful to have a definitive blood test.

If a person was helped with a different diet than they must have something else going on besides FM, or maybe they never had FM at all.
Diet has a lot to do with everything. When an athlete is training, they pay attention to nutrition because they know proper nutrition can enhance performance while poor nutrition can ruin performance.
We're fighting a battle here. Proper nutrition will naturally give us a better body to fight with. Poor nutrition has been shown to increase one's chance of heart disease, diabetes, etc.
Having FM is bad enough without compounding it with issues that could have been prevented.
