Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
Hope you feel better real soon. Sometimes a good cry can be therapeutic.
Can you : keep a heating pad at work or in your house on your fave chair? I use capsaicin patches and also got a script for lidoderm patches which actually NUMB the part of the body. I take a pain pill, lots of supplements, exersize when I can, and read uplifting encouraging things instead of dwelling on the negative news this world loves to feed us. Those are some things...
Just remember that there will be better days or even just moments...look for them.
Hugs,
Jbean
Winter is fast approaching and I have a feeling it's not going to be good. I live in Massachusetts and the weather here is very unpredictable. I too hurt more when I am cold. I also get so stiff. I was diagnosed in March (I believe), but suffered the pain since January.
It is so hard to get up in the morning and face the day. I am always exhausted, all I want to do is sleep. And when I am awake, I just don't want to move. I have been hearing that Fibromyalgia can become to a point where you can get on disability. That scares me. I am 48 years old.....I'm young! I won't let that happen....bound and determined. I know excercise is supposed to help....but it makes me feel worse after. Need to close the pool, so there goes my water therapy.
Then there is the depression! I don't know if the depression is feeding the fibro, or the fibro feeding the depression. I am on meds for depression as well as anxiety. I take Gabapentin for the pain....it helps with the throbbing, but not the pain points.
I am looking forward to better days......they better come soon. And thank you everyone for your advice....I have read each one of your responses closely and it makes me feel good to know I am not alone! Hugs to all of you.
