I'm glad you found a good shampoo, though. It's not easy to find quality products that actually work.
Take care,

Shampoo is designed to clean the hairshaft/scalp areas. And it needs cleaning agents to lift open the cuticle to do so.
And this is all good.
But when we don't close up that cuticle properly, our hair cuticle is still wide open and it's like rubbing two roses together. They keep getting stuck on each other thorns.
So many manufacturers will load their conditioners with silicones and other polymers to 'wax' your hair and weigh down those cuticles again thus making your hair detangle easily with out a fight.
One should only loose 50 up to 100 hairs/day. Now if you have short hair, that doesn't seem like much. But if you have anything past shoulder length and 100hairs/day looks like quite a bit. This is why you need to look for other signs of breakage / new growth at the scalp to see any significant hair loss.
At various times throughout the year I can loose up to about 15-20% of my hair. I can see it in my hairline. And I'm wiling to bet money is it my thyroid acting up. But when I go in, the test the docs run often comes back with it being okay. I have had it come back as being too off and raising concern, but then I go in for a repeat test a few months later and everything is fine. Funny, it's around that same time I stop loosing hair as well.
Either way, be as kind as possible to the hair you do have. Do ice cold water rinses if you don't like conditioner (makes that hair shaft close up tight and gives lots of shine). Or use your favorite conditioner and if it's heavy with waxes, just some dish soap 3-4 times / month to help strip off the extra waxes. You can use a clarifying shampoo, but it acts the same as dish soap. (just be warned that either or will strip out any hair color you have put in yourself!)
Blue, I hope they figure out what is causing your hair loss. But in the meantime, I'm glad you found a shampoo that helps!
