For the first time ever, I had to come home from work due to my fibromyalgia symptoms. I am a dental hygienist for 35 years and need to work but............... I just don't know if I can continue for much longer.
Those words are so hard to get out of my mouth. I am so afraid and sad. I am a woman of faith but this one is really bringing me to my knees.
I am embarrassed and full of shame - just so many emotions that aren't positive about myself. I do know that this is the illness and not "me" but I live in this world and still need to work.
Does anybody have any good stories about disability ?
My head is spinning - I am so grateful for you all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this and listening.
From one overwhelmed girl to my fellow FM friends. Gentle hug to all.

I've been disabled since 2009. I had a career in the film industry which I loved. It was a hard decision. But, I have a much better quality of life now that I have some control. I can rest when I need to and so on.
I used a company called Allsup. You can find them online. They have a 97% success rate. I was very impressed with the way that they handled my case. I was approved on the first try in 6 months. That is an anomaly; most people wait longer.
You need to make sure that your doctor's will support this decision. And, that there is no other job that you can do. Good luck to you and take care.
I imagine with a job like yours, you are not able to just zone out when you need to.
I have been on disability from 1997 until my 66th birthday. Now, it is straight social security.
Good luck.

After being denied SSD two times, I tried using Allsup after hearing about somebody else's success using them and was approved the third time. Like Fantod, I highly recommend them. It wouldn't hurt to talk to them that is for sure. A gentle hug to you also:) Please keep us updated okay. Take care!
I hope you all have a less painful day than yesterday and send a gentle hug.
Blessings to all !
