I wish HIPPA laws didn't prevent me from sharing some of the things I see at work everyday. It's unbelievable what some people do and say.
I used to approve applications for Medicaid and Food Stamps. You had to provide a month's worth of income verification.
Ladies would tell me their husbands got paid every two weeks, and hand me two check stubs, dated seven days apart. I would explain that the check stubs showed the husband was paid once a week.
They would look me straight in the eye, without missing a beat, and insist he was paid every two weeks. I would give them a return appointment to bring in correct income verification.
They would come back, this time with two check stubs dated two weeks apart. I would explain that the year-to-date amounts showed there was a check stub missing. They would insist again that he was only paid every two weeks.
Now I had to give them another return appointment to bring in a letter from his employer. They would protest that they couldn't get the letter, because the husband would be fired if he asked for the letter.
I would explain that they had to provide the correct income verification or I couldn't approve the case. The appointment date would come and go and they would never show up or call.
I would have to deny the application and send a denial letter. As soon as they received the denial letter, they invariably would call me and cuss me out for denying there application!!!!
Another true story......
I was explaining to someone how I had hurt my eye (got hit in the eye by the hook on a bungee cord). I said I had been very lucky...someone else I knew hadn't been so lucky...he got hit in the eye by a baseball and fractured the bone around the eye. This was very dangerous because the bone could heal around the nerves and cause a lot of problems.
She said she knew all about that because she had fractured the bone around her eye once. I should have know better than to ask how. She told me.
She had been waiting for someone to back out of a parking place in a very crowded lot. Someone else came from the other side and beat her out of the spot, even though he saw that she was waiting.
Furious, she pulled her car up as close to his as she could get and jumped out of her car and started banging on his window and swearing at him. He opened his car door and got out.
He towered over her. Undaunted, she continued to swear at him. He punched her in the face. She was surprised!!!! I was speechless.
Maybe they are just frustrated with life too since this is a hard time for everyone it seems.
But you arent crazy its just a crazy world.
Hopefully if we wish or pray or hopeand try it will finally be a peaceful caring world.
You may have read of my little road rage incident a few weeks ago in a McDonalds car park. I tooted someone who reversed out way too fast without looking. She jumped out, came screaming over to me, spittle everywhere, swearing and thumped the roof of my car, when she went back to her car I was still sitting there a little stunned and had a kinda dumb grin on my face, well she came back for me, told me not to f'ing laugh at her and kicked the front of the car.
The sad part was she was in her early 20's and had a "baby on board" sticker in the back window of her car. Why do people get so upset over nothing and why don't people just treat others as they would like to be treated. :(
It isn't you. People have no self respect and hard to respect others when you can't respect yourself.
My biggest question is where is common sense these days??? Even IF this woman wasn't "trolling", don't you know she would be the first to holler if someone just walked up and grabbed her?? I was taught, you act and dress the way you expect to be treated.
It isn't just you, sweetie.....I can't believe how rude and inconsiderate people are. What I REALLY hate to see is the young girls dressed like hookers.....that really bothers me.
It is dumbfounding, frankly to encounter people who behave in just idiotic manners....
I am trying to learn to let them go and not stress too much anymore...I know I must control stress as much as possible.
Way, back when when I woulda and coulda...I woulda yelled at boobie lady to keep her saggy boobs to herself. LOL....ok, well, maybe not exactly like that. But, I would have said something.
If I do,however, encounter ANYONE mistreating or blatantly abusing a child, I DO indeed say something to these piss poor parents or caretakers. I have also called cops on parents before. I dont take witnessing child abuse....never, ever. Thats the one thing I do not let roll off my shoulders.
If I ever caught my daughter dressed like that she would be grounded for life. Thankfully she doesnt challenge me with these horrific outfits teens wear nowadays....my daughter is a jeans and t-shirt and jacket kind of girl, but very stylish...I am counting my blessings.
I will pray for those girls you saw at Wendy's....may they get on the right track of life....
I new he was going to try and cut in to the line so I had my eye on him. When the lady opened the door sure enough he cut in right in front and walked right up to the desk thinking no one would have the guts to say a word. Well he didn't know me that's for sure. I walked right up to him in front of everyone and said in a very loud voice...YOU HAD BETTER GET TO THE BACK OF THE LINE RIGHT NOW HOW DARE YOU CUT IN FRONT OF ALL THESE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS PLACE TO OPEN AND YOU DO IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR KID?? WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU TRYING TO TEACH YOUR KID DUDE?? TO BE A RUDE JERK LIKE YOU?? IF YOU DON'T GET TO THE END OF THIS LINE RIGHT KNOW I AM CALLING THE POLICE...YOU HAVE 2 SECONDS!!! Then I pulled out my cell phone...he looked at me and we had the stare down contest I said to him real soft try me ass hole...he put his head down and went to the end of the line where he now lose his place and was behind everyone.
Everyone started clapping for me and said good for you and telling the guy...you should be ashamed of yourself TEACHING A YOUNG CHILD SUCH THINGS...the guy was so embrassed by the time they were done with him he walked out.
People just think they can do things like that these days but they best not do it when I'm around because I will confront them every time!!!
