I can't seem to use my CPAP machine. When I try to breath out through my nose, my ears almost pop. I struggle for a long time to get to sleep, then seem to whip it off in the middle of the night. I have an appt in Dec, so going to ask if it can be turned down. It's that, or ditching it altogether! lol
Good luck your appt. I really like my mom's neuro and wish I could get an appt with him. He is a super, super guy and ended up doing a great job on my mom's back surgery.
A sleep study is good to get done because alot of have sleep apnea along with problems with the stages of sleep.
Please keep us updated.
Hugs & Prayers,
Mary
Seems like lots of us Fibromyalgics end up having sleep apnea. I'll be interested to find out the results of your sleep study.
They say the typical sleep apnea patient is usually an older man who is overweight and drinks too much and snores loudly.
I didn't fit any of their typical patient molds. I was a normal weight, middle aged woman who didn't smoke, drink or snore.
But I read of more and more Fibromyalgics falling in to this category.
I have been using my c-pap machine for about 4 years. At first I felt a big difference, but soon afterward, didn't notice anything at all. Until, that is, I didn't use my machine for a night! I felt wretched! So I use it every night and pray the lights don't go out!
Good luck and let us know the outcome of your sleep test.
