I am at my wits end with my gastro problems. My barium grooling 4.5 hour test came back (where i lost my bowels during test eke), and doctor says it's "normal".
The last gastroenterologist told me I had a small bit of diverticulitis. All the new gastro doc did was send me pictures of the colonoscopy, that's it. It's the, 'you're fine' b.s. ERRRRR
So, I called Mayo Clinic in Rochester. They are not accepting new gastro patients. Called Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. Nice lady said I could send in a referral from any doctor. So, I just asked my concierge doctor to refer me.
Full Stop. Done, over it. Tired of ending up in the ER 2-4 times a year with blood in stool and no freakin' diagnosis. Over it!
Help!

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

The point is, I"m free to roam the country and work on the go since I lost 3 major clients anyway, sigh. Will be applying for partial disability once I get help tomorrow packing up my car with the help of my caregivers. I'll come back to Texas in Fall is the plan, but I'm searching for my health first.
So, California insurance maybe is an option too. San Diego has an excellent gastro department. I've thought of going there too.
Thoughts???
I'd take a look at US News for their list of the best gastro specialists in the country and consider one of them.
I hope that you get some answers. I'd be so frustrated too.
Some other slight imbalances due to being sick and dehydrated.
Concierge doctor says it was acute diverticulitis preceded by ruining my gut lining because I had to be on respiratory infection antibiotics last year 6 months!
Also, I was forced to go off of suboxone patches due to pain management not being able to fit me in. Then i had another diverticulitis flare. Girls my wrists are SOOO bruised from i.v.'s and blood tests. I'm marked all over it's embarrassing.
But, bottom line is doc think it's conclusive so I'm giving up Mayo clinic and trying to get health back. Thank you all :)
Just know we're here and we're rooting for you to be healthy!
Today, saw a bison, several elk lazing by the stream, huge waterfalls, some duckies, and a giant bull elk 3 feet from my car!
Pretty cool. Time for rest.
I haven't been on this forum for a while, so I don't really follow what you're going thru. But if you are still searching and are coming to California, there is renowned GI doc (a doctors' doctor) in San Francisco: Kenneth Binmoeller at the California Pacific Medical Center.
He is someone that other GI doctors go for advice. Google him.
