So I posted late last night, but those crazy winds that most of the country had? Blew a tree onto my house yesterday. I saw the damage in my bedroom on the camera I use to check on Miki, and my neighbor Facebook messaged me to let me know there was a tree on my house. Thankfully my coworkers are nice, they told me to leave work so I could deal with it. All the animals are ok, a little freaked out obviously, but that's the most important thing. The ceiling in my bedroom and living room is badly damaged, and some of the support structure is damaged too. So for now the cats are here (I brought them down last night), and Miki is at my parents house. I'm staying there too, but just until it's liveable in there. I told my dad that he has to stand in the corner by the woodpile when Miki is out, and under no circumstances can she be left out alone, nor can he put the electronic collar he uses for their dog on her. She didn't have to get crated overnight at least, I let her sleep on the bed with me. She will need to be crated when my dad goes up to my house to put a tarp over the roof. I should hear from the insurance adjuster today, hopefully they can get out there today, and I'm hoping we can get someone out there by tomorrow afternoon to get a temporary support in so I can go back there. I barely slept, partly because of stress, partly because I was in a different place, and it took Miki a while to settle down because she was nervous. Eventually she curled up by my feet and went to sleep. Today is going to be long, I'm hurting like crazy and my IBS that's been worse from the birth control anyway is really bad. I'm literally too exhausted to even break down crying right now..
Miki, so glad you weren't hurt! Hopefully the adjuster will get out quickly and you can get the house livable soon.
Didn't get the Tai Chi done yesterday. My right SI joint and hip started really bothering me. I figured I'd give it a break for a day and would wake up today feeling OK. Well, that didn't happen. :( I don't know if I did something or if it's just my good luck that caused it. I have to see my therapist today and then I'm going to try to not do anything this afternoon. That will be two days in a row I don't get things done, but so be it.
Miki - I saw your message last night. I used to work in the insurance industry and I know how stressed out you must feel. I sent you a PM about getting an allowance for living some place other than with your folks. I am really sorry that your home is damaged. That was/is my worst nightmare with my neighbors crappy trees on both sides. I sure hope that your adjuster gets out there quickly and treats you fairly. Hugs and lots of support.
PainedOne - I have an SI joint that slips out of position all of the time just because it can. It's so painful. I'm considering surgery to stabilize it (outpatient procedure). Between the back pain and it radiating into my hip, I'm not a happy camper. Don't fuss about not being able to get stuff done. You just have to roll with it and eventually things come together. I hope that your day is a decent one.
I worked on genealogy a lot yesterday. May do some more today if I can sit for a while. If not, I have a movie that I would like to see on Amazon Prime. I have laundry working and I need to get out of here briefly. We have the potential for 6 inches of snow between tonight and tomorrow. I have a couple of errands, need a change of scenery and go to the grocery store for a couple of items. Pretty sure I won't be going anywhere tomorrow.
Shoutout to Twin, Wonder, Ida, Blue, Milily, Autumn, Maynard and Bear! I hope that everyone can hold it together today. Group hug!
Leo....hugs...big hugs and chocolate to you my dear!
Miki,,,,whol-ly-smokes! I'm glad you were not here when it happened! And I'm praying it's not a ton of damage! I'm so sorry that happened.
Pained...I'm sorry you didn't get to workout yesterday.
Fantod, thanks for the shoutout....Hmm, prime movie and warm day next to the dryer? I'll trade you? LOL. Glad you got some genealogy stuff done.
Hubs interview went well....he got an offer this morning. He's juggling a few other places right now too....so the next 36-48hrs is going to be a whirlwind of prayer and patience. Feels so good to have this offer on the table.
Jeep went down last night. Leaking coolant. In the shop on Friday.
I'm still a mess after my fall a couple of weeks ago. Arms and legs all tingly and numb as I use them.
Niece needs a ride all week.
Working on county to help get a structure built for the boys to enjoy outside. Back and forth on that.
And I'm about 10 minutes past done with the color on my hair right now, LOL.
I need to scoot! I hope everyone's day goes well today! I'll do my best to sneak back on. Hugs to all.
Miki...deep breaths! Cry later. I usually wait until the bill comes...then I let it loose.
Leo, sorry the hubs is grumpy today. Tell him that's what you have to deal with when he snores lol. Yay for sleep! Boo headache.
Miki, I saw your post last night and am shocked at what happened to you. I'm glad nobody is hurt. Sending prayers your way.
I am up at 5:15 to make sure I can be ready in time for my appointment w/ the rheumy. It sucks that we live an hour from town and that means getting up earlier to leave earlier. Mornings are no good for me, I'm always a wreck and take forever to get out of the house.
Had another headache last night that bogged down my studies. They are every day now. I hope I can catch up this afternoon.... it's a really busy week.
Back in a sec.
Miki OMG I am so glad you weren't hurt. I hope the insurance does it's part quickly and you can get the damage repaired. Hugs and support.
PainedOne Tai Chi will wait. You need to take care of you.
Fantod I hope you don't get too much snow. Be careful and don't overdo.
Wonder I am glad you have at least one offer on the table. It must take a lot of pressure off your hubby.
I have coughed so much that I have now strained my back. I have pinched nerves that are making my left arm/shoulder useless. And I am bored out of my gourd! We got 2 inches of snow night before last and it snowed all day yesterday. At least I have that to look at.
Hit to blue, ida and twins.
Miki take a deep breath and keep telling yourself it will be ok. You will get the repairs done and it will be good as new. Hugs.
Got through half of today's lecture so far... will have to pick up again later. Our temps came back up for a few days, almost reached 80.... but we have another cold front coming through and it's making me feel like poo. We're back down to 55 today and dropping further tomorrow... a layer of snow is expected on Mt. Haleakala. Guess I'd better get my fuzzy socks back out. I guess I can no longer brag about our "year-round" warm temps. OK... off to shower and head out to my appointment.
I wish everyone else the best. I hope I read good stuff about you all.
