Morning everyone...my arm was already doing better last night. I suspect it's a combo of a couple doses of amoxicillin I started immediately and starting the Augmentin, but Skadi may have had something to do with it too:

My stomach is not happy but that's par for the course. And honestly it was already messed up before the antibiotics. We have no doctor at work today, so the manager and I are splitting the day. I'm working the morning and she's working the afternoon. It's supposed to rain all day so I'll probably just go home and nap once I get Miki out. Koshka is still doing pretty well, all things considered. She even played with a toy yesterday, unprompted. I know she's not cured obviously, but at least with her feeling better I'm thinking in terms of weeks, not days (what it probably would have been if she didn't improve on the steroids). Months would be amazing but I know I shouldn't expect that.
Sorry to continually bring her up...typing it out helps me get my head around it better, if that makes sense. I'm still a mess over it. I love this cat so much...hell, I was drawn to Skadi because she reminded me of Koshka-a tabby kitten with a short tail and a serious case of resting bitch face. She's insanely sweet and cuddly, and about the most adorable cat ever since she still looks kind of like a kitten because she's little.

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

I'm sorta back on a laptop (but NOT an HP, see my journal if you can), tho' currently getting it loaded with stuff. (Antivirus, etc.) Borrowing hubby's work laptop for the moment.
Nightmares, pain, stress, so business as usual here. How long till September? For some reason, my brain just calms dsown when it sees "Labor Day"!
HUGS to all form the puma, and, Miki, you're not alone. Let me know if we can help. :-)
I’m going to try a normal post today, and see if it goes through.
Thanks for starting us off today, Miki. You can talk about your furry pals anytime you want. They are such a big part of our lives. I’m glad you have a chance to rest today. You work so hard. I applaud you for all you do. But also feel badly, because how hard that must be.
Leo, I’m the same. Yay, when Labor Day comes! Also, when my son sends out the email for our fantasy football. Then I know summer is close to done. I get the PTSD nightmares. They feel so real. You please take care of you. I know you have much on your plate, take a little bit of each day to take care of yourself.
This has been an interesting? Week. I got a crown. Don’t get too excited for me. It was from my dentist and I had to pay for it.
I found out I need some surgery on my left hand. Nothing really serious. I developed trigger finger on my ring finger. My funny sister in law said wishes it was my middle finger getting stuck straight up instead as I could give everyone the finger to let them know how my life is going. lol
She is a great friend and hubby’s sister. She and her partner are going on vacation with us in September. I can’t wait! Hubby and her partner have the same first name. They are both stinkers, and so laid back. So I’m looking forward to some fun. I certainly need it, as we all do. I’m not getting my surgery until after our vacation, or I won’t be able to go swimming in the hotel pool. We leave on the 13th, early.
I’m going to read today. Hopefully, Brewer doesn’t have to go out much. This heat is brutal.
Love you all, and I pray for as good of a day as you can muster.
Miki, thanks for starting the day for us. So glad that your arm is feeling better. Good job, Skadi! And relieved to hear that Koshka is feeling a little better. Thank you for keeping us in the loop about her.
Leo, good to see you again. I hope your laptop can be revived?
Angela, sorry your doctor won't prescribe you narcotics because of your long ago history of substance abuse. Is there something else they can do to help you? You can't live like this.
Milily, I've never seen weather like this! Even Maui burned to a crisp. I hope the drought ends soon and everyone's weather returns to normal.
My lower back and left hip are rebelling against me today. I did something to it while rolling a paint roller up and down a wall yesterday. The pain was bad enough last night my husband had to help me get up to use the bathroom. It is a little better now, just a bit!
Today I need to next door to an apartment complex and talk to them. First to ask who their garage pick up company is because they may have witnessed the robbery. Second to tell them the fence bordering our property and theirs is damaged and needs to be replaced so they need to cover half the cost. We also need to finish painting the master bedroom today so we can get our stuff moved out of the attached apartment so water mitigation can come in and strip the flooring of the apartment out after the sewage spill.
Mom was sent home with a referral to a heart surgeon. They stuck a camera in her heart and discovered more problems than they thought and she may need open heart surgery.
Take care everyone! Have a blessed weekend.
Miki - I am glad that your arm is OK. Those pictures are so cute! I'm glad that you only have a half day. You need some extra rest and cuddle time. Hugs!
Leo - I am glad that you are sort of reconnected to the world again. Bad motherboards on HP computers is ridiculous. Apparently their test protocol prior to shipping sucks.
Bec - I'm glad that your post went through! Vacation sounds like fun! This has been such a weird summer. We had high heat yesterday too. There was a substantial breeze which sort of helped. I hope that you have a good day today!
HI Blue- You've got a lot going on. I'm sorry that you hurt yourself painting. I hope that you are able to get some information from the garbage pick up folks and some cooperation on getting the fence fixed. I hope that everything will be OK with your Mom. I hope that you can grab a bit of me time today.
My partner is working on the pool today. We have low flow on the pump. I asked him to change the filter sand at the beginning of the season because it was due. He didn't and here we are - smh. I think that he can get enough crap off of the top of the sand to get it functional for the rest of the season which isn't long. I have two bags of filter sand in the shed if it comes to that.
My BIL is doing better with his medication increase so we can relax about that a bit.
My brother now has an intestinal bug while he is holed up at the hotel. Today is the last day for the ionizer in his basement and then he'll just keep the air scrubber for the weekend to get rid of that smell which is kind of acrid and all through the house. Hopefully the ionizer got rid of the stench down there.
No plans today other than some laundry. I might scrub the kitchen floor and do a bit of vacuuming but that's about it. I have a super senior cat starting tomorrow for three days.
Shoutout to AngelaJo, birthday girl PuppyMom, JP, Milily and LilMissy.
