NOW I do not know if there is any validity in that advice and if it is ok to do or not but I am gonna give it a shot when I return to pool therapy.
For me green tea irritated my bladder and it is decaf too so I had to cut way back on it. Also coffee, caf or decaf, doesn't matter.
Things have improved considerably since I made the changes.
I got a new gyn awhile back and she said UTIS are frequent when you start losing estrogen, I dont know your age but wanted to throw out my experience and what I have read and been told by a specialist.
Also if you drink alot of caffiene it can irritate the bladder.
I buy the azo test kits from the pharmacy and test to see if I have a uti before I go to the dr anymore, Also you can buy the pills that make your urine orange and that will give you some relief, drink alot of water, take cranberry tablets or drink the juice.
I had them constantly and it is no fun, I still get them at times but trying to use premarin to help with estrogen lost to prevent further UTI and all the things that come with estrogen lost. Though I have been post menopausal many many many years,
I know its aggravating I dealt with it for over 20 years and still have to becareful., esp everytime I got out of the pool and no hot baths.
Do see a urologist. They know what to do for you. It's important to be as comfortable as possible. p.s. I don't swim.
But long ago a doctor told me how to cure a bladder infection, and it works every time. Squeeze the juice out of three large lemons. Pour into a gallon of purified (or distilled) water. Drink at least 1/2 gallon per day for about four days (that's two gallons and six lemons).
And every week I squeeze one lemon. I add this to two or three glasses of water and drink. And that usually keeps the bladder infections from ever starting.
I hope this helps.
Hugs, hugs, thanks. All comments and tips welcome.
