yes my breasts hurt usually around my monthly periods (no longer an issue due to menopause) but they got really sore before my fibro DX and always around that time. also with fibro you can experience chest pains it's called costochondritis. heat will help the soreness, use a heating pad or rice bag heated warm, NOT hot. hope you feel better (hugs) AB
I hope you feel better soon!
also, see the other posts, caffeine really does add to soreness.
Time to lose weight since you are a self-described "larger girl." Exercise, even if just walking, swimming or yoga. Go vegetarian if you are not already and watch portion sizes. Stay away from: sugar and its substitutes whether "natural" or artificial, alcohol, fats such as oils, butter and margarine, shortening. Animal products like cheeses and meats. No fried foods. Avoid desserts of all kind including cakes, candies, pies, ice cream, pudding, cookies, etc.
I know it is the holidays, but most folks gain every holiday season and never lose that weight. So... they go up in weight 3-10 lb every year. I'll bet you are glad that I am not at your celebration! lol But in all seriousness, my health is more important to me than food and I love to exercise.
Good luck and I hope this advice takes care of the issue.
Merry Christmas to you and all others here who celebrate it!
Good Luck
I do recommend getting properly fitted. for the longest time I was squishing my breasts into D cups that were way to small and wearing a band size that was too big! You have to go someplace that carries a variety of sizes, not like victoria's secret (They said I was a C up... and then told me a C and a D cup are the same thing! RIGHT!), but I had to look online and find a lingerie specialty place. I also got the best sports bra in the world - it's by Freya. It's about 60$ but it is soooo worth it and your boobs will not move at all! It also keeps them from sweating! Anyways getting the correct bra size has reduced not only breast pain but also back pain. I seriously recommend this to everyone, especially those with fibro because anything that can reduce pain is worth it.
There is an herb called skullcap which was used by native americans specifically for breast pain as well as anti inflammatory properties. I take it for pain relief. You can get it at vitamin shoppe for about 10$ they also make it in a tea form. It does help with breast pain but I've also noticed it helps with other pain too (I can't take NSAIDS so Skullcap is a blessing to me.)
Someone here mentioned losing weight - I don't know if that would really help you in this scenario and nor did you mention that you wanted to do this. Our bodies are all built differently - for me, it doesn't matter how much weight I lose I still keep the chest so I could be underweight and still have breast pain. Sorry someone left you a rather condescending comment like that on this topic. I don't think that losing weight automatically equals pain relief or health.
Doc says they are fine although i haven't had a mamo in many years, last time I only had a begnin growth.
I am told it is common to have sore boobs, mine have been like this for two years now. I am a tiny women with the consequential tiny chest so it isn't do to weight or swelling. The least bit of swelling on mine and it would be noticeable...lol
I think it is just a normal hormonal thing.....yet another joy of being a women...maybe linked to FM since it happened after my FM got worse.
