Ok so where am I going with this lol...
There is a new weight lose method that involves the use of pregnancy hormone HCG. ITs said to have great results and is pretty safe because it involves a hormone we naturally produce when pregnant. The way it works is with HCG it controls your unstable fat which is the fat you seek to loose. Unstable fat is the unhealthy fat and the first fat that you want to loose but your body holds onto for dear life when dieting. When your pregnant the HCG uses the fat storage that is unstable first to provide the things baby needs when mom doesnt eat when she needs to. You take the hormone for 3 weeks and use a special protien rich calorie low diet. Then you go on a maintance diet for 2 weeks to keep from becoming immune to the hormone. You can then repeat the hormone steps until you reach your desired weight. I usually gain all my wieght back in a matter of a couple months after I deliver even thought I dont consume massive food. WHen I deliver if I start to gain this weight back I will definantly be trying this hormone procedure. When you reach your target weight you do a certain diet for a certain period to reset your metabolism so that you dont regain. THe doctors told me that its probally the hormone in my system and the way my body responds to it as why I loose weight while pregnant. SO if it works while Im pregannt Im sure it should work when Im not.
I know looseing weight is hard and I have a sneaky feeling that since we are sick with FM that our bodies just dont act like they should and make it even harder to loose. I can commend anyone that wants to do it the natural way but I dont know about you but Im tired of struggling everytime I turn around. I hope this helps some
The amount of excerise your managing I think is quite incredible, I have an excercise DVD which I can manage about 10 mins in the mornings, and while I still try to be 'normal' every other day, eg grocery shopping etc I certainly feel the effects of the extra excercise.
It is so diificultto lose the weight and I certainly understand your frustration, the only thing I could suggest is maybe a gentler excercise program that focuses more on stretching rather than the crunches and aerobic type dancing. Good luck to you.
Hugs
I have recently been sick with an intestinal 'something'(don't know what yet), and ended up losing over 20 lbs. I now think I might have IBS, so I have been following an IBS diet. I am slowly losing weight(very slowly), but think I'm doing it in a healthy way.
If exercise is leaving you exhausted, find something with lower impact than dancing. Try some yoga - if you combine meditation (what else ya gonna do with your mind while sitting in a lotus position?) you may begin to relax more which helps promote better sleep.
Meditating is nothing more than focusing your mind on something - anything you want. Pick a topic and let your mind play with it. I often think about one or more of my children. If nothing more, this helps me come up with unique gift ideas for them but it can really help with problem solving. Relaxing into a problem can help you come up with a solution.
I need to loose at least 80 pounds myself (50 of it from Lyrica) and I really don't like how my clothes fit, how I feel, how I look, but it'll be what it is and if I let myself stress out about it I'll be miserable, depressed and still fat.
People will hate to see me coming because I'll be so miserable and cranky. I'll have no more friends. Friends who really have problems of their own and could care less about how much I weigh.
Don't concentrate on dieting as much as living your life with style. Relish the foods you put in your mouth and only eat the very best and most nourishing foods - just maybe not so much.
I've been having some luck with half-portion meals. I eat half as much as normal and allow for an extra meal during the day at the time of my choice if I'm hungry. A salad is a meal. A meal doesn't always need meat, potato, vegetable, bread - all at once.
I snack on frozen peas or corn, apples, grapes and sometimes canna-buttered potcorn.
I've mostly cut out sugar but allow myself one of my special brownies every day or two. Not eating sugar makes any sugar seem like a lot. Enforce a strict limit. Remember, you're in charge.
I'm often tempted to binge, but I'm in charge. I binge maybe once a month. If I binge, I have to take an extra walk, or do all the laundry - some kind of task to make up for it.
Only have what you're going to eat in your house. If you don't buy it, you can't eat it. You are the goddess of your nutrition and if you're cooking/buying for others, they can just eat what you make/buy.
When you walk from one room to another, march. Lift your knees as high as you can. You'll feel it in your tummy. Swing your arms with purpose.
And if you're feeling silly, pretend you're a ninja and slither along, hugging the walls as you move around.
As you're drifting off to sleep at night, take in a deep breath while completely relaxing your tummy and then filling your upper lungs - slowly, aim at counting to 5. As you exhale, empty the upper lungs first, then push the rest of the breath out by tightening your stomach muscles.
This works the abdomen and helps with relaxation - it should help with your sleep.
Sweet dreams.
This is the BIGGEST Reason we Fail...we CANNOT Work out like "Before Life with FM".
We work out...and Suffer for days.
First things First..
Get an Experienced Massage Therapist...not a "Fluff massage"...this massage Hurts, and ya MAY Feel sick a day or 2 after...be Sure to drink plenty of water before and after massage to Help Flush the Toxins...do the Massages at least a Few times before starting an exercise Routine again...to get everything Loosened up again..See a Chiro to be sure Everything is in its Place...
Start out Slowly...if you have ever Worked out in a Heated pool you know you can do this Much longer and with Less pain & Fatigue then Land Based Exercises...One Reason is the Pressure of the Water not Only holds Muscle & Joints where they belong, but ALSO Opens up Veins & Arteries allowing Optimum Oxygen & Blood Flow...
Learn some Light Stretches while Belly Breathing...Start out by Simply Walking around in the water...slowly increase...sometimes bending at the knees to move your ar,s back and forth thru the water...spend No more then an Hour about every other day in the water til you can Feel that you are in fact Stronger and can do More...sometimes this takes a bit...IF you Crash/Flare...go back to "Maintenance Level" but Don't Quit.. Do this for SELF.
The Weight does Come off...as you build Muscle you will Lose Fat.so you may Not see a Weight Reduction for awhile....the More Muscle you Build...the Less fat you will have...Soon the weight itself starts to come off...
This is NOT going to take away your FM...it will however make you Feel better..I dropped almost 30 pounds within 2 months...and I was not doing it for the Weight Loss {tho I obviously needed to lose it}...it was a POSITIVE Side effect of Physical Therapy...that I stuck with...
Do this More for your Over ALL Health...then just to Lose Weight...it becomes Quite Addictive actually as you start Feeling Better then you have in YEARS...
Good Luck to You...Take care ..
