Right. It's like they think we're stupid and will believe anything we're told regardless of all the evidence and proof that points to the fact that these different syndromes are all the same thing.

I tell you, they did something to us and they're trying to cover it up. The soldiers with GWS report being dosed with something and then there's that whole thimerisol thing with the vaccinations.

I think GWS is also associated with the vaccines they gave the military before both gulf wars. A coworker of my hubby's was just diagnosed with ALS and they think it has to do with the vaccines.

I hope if they get the 60 million dollars they ask for , for research it will go toward research. Be nice if they could find those kinds of dollars to compensate those who are suffering from it all too instead of treating them like they are crap on the bottom of their shoes looking for handouts ... makes me so mad.

I do agree with unduki based on several articles have read over the past couple years. The hard part is knowing what is the truth in all these articles. I do believe they know more then what is being told.

I hope that the VA will start to recognize and compensate all those who are struggling with GWS or anything else that is service connected.

I think it's terrible that our Veterans are not taken better care of. I'm sorry that you, your partner and all of the others have to fight to get what you should rightfully get. I was not familiar with GWS; I do wonder about the vaccinations, too.

Seguelly, I had no idea there was a theory regarding vaccinations and some of the symptoms. I served during the first Gulf War, but I was not in that theater of action. And oddly enough my most memorable moment of boot camp was vaccination day, not artillery training, firearms training, obstical course training, but the day we all lined up to get umpteen shots with an automated injector. I still have a tiny scar on my upper right arm where the nurse moved a bit. I wonder if they still use those things? I know what my 20 odd year old vaccination record says I've been given, but now I wonder what else I was given that wasn't listed in my records.

Dolphin, I can believe that vaccination day was your most memorable day in boot camp!!! The stuff they make the troops take is mindboggling!!! I was listening to an interview with the doctor who first connected autism and vaccines yesterday and they were saying how by the time a child is 18 months old, they've had over 50 vaccines!!!! The autism rate is now about 1 in 100 vs. the 1 in 25,000 when my son was little 30 years ago!!! I would urge everyone to do their homework on vaccines before taking anything!!! There were deaths in the Gardisil trials yet it was still approved!! The swine flu vaccine was contaminated with a pig virus!!! I'll take my chances with the illness rather than taking a vaccine for anything!!! Guess this is one subject I feel passionately about......

Ruh roh, I think I made a boo boo. My employer offered free H1N1 vaccines this year so I took advantage of it. Oddly I haven't felt myself since but that could very well be psychosomatic. I just know that since I'm so susceptible to respiratory infections which then trigger my asthma it would be a very good idea to take both flu vaccines this year, which I did.
Blue, as an older vet (15 years maybe) I was advised that I wasn't entitled to ANYTHING unless it was in my "records" yet it seems that things have changed and perhaps I may be eligible for some benefits. As for you, I know how tired you are daily just from getting up and living, taking care of yourself and your dear mother, but you must keep pushing and fighting this. If you need me, for whatever I can be for you, just holler! If nothing else, I can type at about 75wpm and I'm pretty good at research. I also don't mind making phone calls. Please ask and I'll be happy to help. We have to stick together.

yes i'm still fighting the VA. i'm on my 4th or 5th appeal with them. i don't understand because i have symptoms all through my record while i was still active duty and it's clear right after 9/11. but they never put ALL the symptoms together and said "hey this might be FM" till 3 moths AFTER i got out. most of the docs in the military were so focused on my asthma issues and back injury, it never crossed their minds to check if i had fibro as well.

it's a pretty flawed system. the damn VA can't look back in my records and see clearly that those symptoms are FM (even after i finally got dx).... geniuses. as many times as i tel them to read my records, they just keep sending me a denial.

also.... yes there are theories that the vaccinations may have caused it, there are also many theories that GWS comes from breathing in the burning oil pits. maybe it's both? takes both exposures combined to cause the illness....? who really knows. there are lots of vaccinations out there that are probably toxic to us. and i know for sure the military don't give a damn what they inject into us. we are expendable.

Well lets put it this way. Montel Williams got signs of MS after he was vaccinated in the Marines. Also, when his show was still on tv, he talked about active duty ppl coming back from the war with severe respiratoy issues, and chronic pain, etc. One doctor in the military didnt tell this one guy what was really going on with him, but yet advised him to NOT have children. He did anyway, and his daughter was born with either one arm or none, I cant remember. You darn right they know more than what they admit to.
