I finally snagged the computer from my hubby and kid. lol They have ours and my sons computers hooked together so they can play two player games on them. Been hogging the computers for three days now!! But I love seeing them together. My hubby is a step dad to my son and it makes my heart glad to see how much they like each other.
I had a doctors appointment on Monday that was fantastic. Last appointment was two weeks ago with the doc that told me that I should move since I have a hard time getting up the stairs of my apartment building. I had two regular docs, with one being my primary doc. I had to make a choice between the two to be my main doc. One docs eyes just glassed over when I mentioned Fibro. So I chose the other one, and what a good decision that was!!!
First thing I said was that I have fibro and I didn't know if she treated it or if she even believed in it. Explained my history and what I have done in the past and how I was feeling at the moment. She asked a whole battery of questions and did the ouchy test. Then looked me in the eye and said I do treat Fibro and believe that it is a truly real disease. So we need to get your pain under control then we can work on what triggers it and how to keep the flares at a minimum. I broke into tears.
So we came up with a plan, she upped the nortryptaline (sp?) because she said we need to make sure you are sleeping. Prescribed Prozac, which I had taken before during my last major flare, to help with the moods, and help me cope with the pain. And gave me more Vicodin. She said that we have get my pain under control. And that she felt that the Vicodin would be the best to do that.
She also said that the clinic has a "deal" with a local pool that is only 8 blocks away from my house. For $1.00, yes one dollar, I can take any water therapy or water exercise classes for 8 weeks. And they have warm therapy pool and sauna. Sauna is included in the price. So is only $1.00 for each 8 week session and as long as they keep telling the pool I need it I take as many sessions as I want. And go as much as I want. They have all the instructors there and know which sessions I need with the Fibro and which ones would not be good for me. She said that she doesn't want me to start the pool therapy for a bit until we get me stabilized. But she is in it with me for the long haul.
So I now feel like I have help and someone in my corner in the medical field. I am amazed how just knowing that has made me feel so much better. Not Fibro wise but mood and attitude wise. I was able to relax and enjoy the Christmas holiday.
I wrote a new entry in my journal about the holiday. This was getting too long here.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!!!

Seattlesue, That is GREAT NEWS. I have an appt. with my rheumatologist on the 2nd of January to get the results of my blood tests etc. I am so glad that I have an appt. with a lady dr. She is GREAT and I would recommend her if anyone lives here in Southern California. She will probably be prescribing for me water therapy also.
