aw, I know how you feel. I am draped over the desk, drooping terribly. It's been so crazy and busy, with so many various snags in our lives these last few weeks and here we are within a week of the Big Day and need to prepare.

For now,though, I think I am going to lie my head down for a few before I have to go get the girlie from school.

Wish you luck with all you have been dealing with I truly hope you have a Great Holiday! We need more Great in our lives!

Hope you get everything accomplished that you want to today. You can also contact the drug companies that make your meds and they will sometimes supply you with a year's supply for your hardship case.

You hand in there with that SSDI fight. Almost everyone is denied the first time. I think they hope if they make it hard for people they will go away! I won after 2 1/2 years. Happy holidays to you....remember to pace yourself!! Lol...yeah right...ok, try!

Thank you so much for posting...it makes the rest of us feel like we aren't alone. I am right smack in the middle of the worst fibro and myasthenic flare I have had in more than a year, and I can totally relate. I want to do so much but my body betrays me every time. The only thing we can do is to pace ourselves and not worry about meeting everyone else's expectations of what the perfect Holiday has to look like and do what will help us celebrate with some ability to enjoy as well. It won't be a Martha Stewart Holiday at my house this year, but we will all share in a dinner, maybe not from scratch, but delicious all the same; munching holiday treats and cookies (some store-bought); and less numerous gifts and more giftcards too I imagine but this year I have given myself permission to be realistic. It really bothers me because I have always decorated to the max, baked and sent cards, visited neighbors and friends, and tried to make it an amazing holiday for everyone, but this year it has to be different. I know it's aggravating and stressful waiting to hear about disability and being turned down. Hope your lawyer can expedite this for you so you can have some stress relief and finanacial stability. I pray you will give yourself permission to take your time and do whatever you can handle, not what other's are expecting. Thanks for sharing...and have a great Holiday!

Thanks guys for again letting me know I'm not alone. I had a blast shopping with my mom today but as I knew I'm paying for it tonight. It was worth it. I not letting Fibro and RA win . I'm going to the jocky lot with my daughter in the morning an other than afew gift cards I'll be done.
I told my son this morning my mind and heart says come lets do this " " and my body jumps back and says "I DON"T THINK SO!!!"
Momonamis, gave my teenage son and daughter gift cards to the movies and out to eat and gas that way they could go on a date and wouldn't cost them a dime and they loved it. I put the cards in different shape boxes to throw them off. Poptart boxes are super.

Glad you posted - everybody struggling with something this time of year - I think most of us feel like we should do "more" but we can only do what we can do.

Don't give up on the disability - you've seen and heard enough here to know most everyone is denied the first time. Getting help is a good thing.

I've done the same thing with gift cards in previous years - wrapped them so they wouldn't know until they opened the box what they were getting. Having an outing you don't pay for is a great gift!

Glad to know your still putting one foot in front of the other ! Be sure to rest.

I am glad you had a great time shopping. Just be sure to pace yourself. I had to be much for organized this year because I had to spread the shopping out or many days but it was well worth the effort.

Even though I knew I would be turned down at least twice, receiving that denial letter is horrible. But once my case got to the hearing level I got a benefits letter. Hiring an attorney is the best move you could make.

Our children are grown and gone, but we got 2 of the 3 something for Christmas, I didn't put up a tree, not a light, no decoration, not even a wreath! I have RA and Fibro also, plus just got dx'd with peripheral neuropathy in my lower legs...I work FT still, and never seem to cook...I can't do it any more!!! I love to cook too, but the life has been sucked out of me for the past 3 months - lost 20 lbs unintentionally...(which I'm happy for believe me I could afford it and more!), but I feel sick.

I hope you have good luck with your appeal...I sooo don't want to face that day!!! I carry the health insurance for the family, so got to work!!! Stinks, but it is what it is....
